Miguel arrived at the diner to an explosion (not literal) of red, white and blue on one side, and red, white, and maple leaves on the other.

"We're not taking sides," the busboy insisted, setting his jaw stubbornly.

"You know we're actually in the US, right?" Miguel asked. Then he thought about it. "Technically. I think."

"And today is actually Canada Day," the dishwasher pointed out.

Miguel shrugged. "Whatever."

Well, it was safe to say that Tino was prepared for the 4th with the massive amount of red, white, and blue decorations going on.

"You know it's not until Tuesday, right?" Jane asked, looking around at the bar that looked like patriotism had thrown up all over the place.

He had not known, it seemed. As the rest of the evening was filled with sullen silence on his end and glares as he pulled down each decoration like it offended him.

The Park, Saturday Evening

It had been a long week. Atton hadn't been back to New York since he'd left for Fandom, and there had been people (a person) with questions. Questions he didn't really have much more of an answer to besides that they were complicated, and he was working on himself, and he'd be back.

(Probably. Eventually.)

He'd gotten back around noon, thrown his stuff back into the room, and gone for a jog. A couple loops around the island, to force a reset on his mind along with his body.

By the time he got to the park, it was more of a walk than anything else. And then a saunter, or maybe a wander, until he wound up here: sitting on a bench, staring at the water and the eerily calm flamingos.

He let out a deep sigh, and slouched more.

Yeah. He had no idea.
