pocketpretzels: (grumpy side eye)

Today was one of those days where, thanks to poor sleep the night before, there was nothing Watts wanted more than to curl up under his desk and attempt a nap. He was, however, persevering. Ostensibly having work to do and all that. Not to mention a lunch date.

Between his radio broadcast and coming into work, Graham had made some pretty good friends with those little horses prancing around and, after arriving and taking care of some of the important stuff of the day to ensure it got done, he grinned over at them and gave a nod. There was a little volley of neighing and prancing and then they all congregated up on the counter (with some help from Graham to pick them up and put them there), and he started setting things up so that they could pursue a little tabletop game of their own.

It was, admittedly, a little chaotic, especially with sort of a language barrier, but it was clear that everyone involved was having a great time. There was also some dramatic moments here and there, and, if anyone came in needing help in the shop, then the horses were actually really great about role-playing amongst themselves to further enrich their narrative!

Even a squirrel had joined in on the action, joining the party a little bit later in the game, but turning out to be a really crucial and excellent addition to the party!

Eleanor was really hoping to get to work on some potions and salves and some seedlings even to send home to Luma, since the two of them had spent a lot of time going over things for the new greenhouse over the holiday break, but the island, it seemed, had a different plan.

Because there were an awful lot of tiny horses everywhere, and apparently, tiny horses loved getting into plants and disturbing the soil and so now Eleanor was sorting to have to play plantguard to make sure that all the horses didn't mess up all of Nell's nice plants in the shop.

This eventually lead to her trying to create a little bit of a corral for the horses, which actually proved effective, but had been a lot of work, because she didn't have the natural herding abilities she just sort of assumed the werewolf side of her family would have.

(She did discover, entirely by accident, that she could command the horses and they'd listen, but she felt bad using her powers even on tiny horses that would probably cease to exist tomorrow).

Harley had missed Black Friday last week, on account of general distraction. Not to worry, though! There was a big and bright sign on the Needful Things window on that particular Friday, instead:

NEON PINK FRIDAY
TODAY!!!

There was no actual sale going on, associated with the sign. But then neither was the sign promising a sale, so ha!

Harley was in, with Bruce, ready to sell everything at the usual prices, pretending they were cheaper than normal.

The minute Rey found a tiny horse on the course (of course), that kind of training was over for the day. There was probably something to sensing where to avoid them, but they really wasn't something she wanted to chance.

So it was going to be a meditation day! With a tiny horse around somewhere because of course she hadn't left it up there.

Flint's life hadn't been filled with a lot of whimsy prior to arriving in Fandom, and it still gave him some significant pause. Tiny, pointless horses traipsing through his shop were definitely cause for additional suspicion, in his view.

"If you harass my books, I have no issue with murdering you," Flint said, feeling vaguely silly threatening small herd of truly ridiculous animals.

There was the small flag of the United Arab Emirates on the counter, roughly the size of one of the horses, and Flint was prowling the shop looking for unacceptable horse behavior.

The bookshop was open! And lacking whimsy, despite the tiny ponies.
