Liliana had been working on a secret project over the past three weeks and it was almost finished. It was almost as important to win at birthdays as it was at Christmas--and she had lost Christmas to both Ignis and Prompto! Obviously, this could not possibly stand.

And so, her project, sparked by a dinner conversation. One she was putting the finishing touches on now, sitting behind the counter and chuckling to herself, highly pleased by her own cleverness.

In the window was today's item, the Magister's Scepter.

Summer was a little late coming into work that day, because she was busy picking up a big fancy cheesecake from the bakery for the cheese panda. Because it was actually a pretty big day here at T&C. It was not only National Cheese Lovers Day, but also, apparently, his birthday (although Summer suspected he just said it was because of the cheese lover day thing, but who was she to criticize anyone for leaning hard into a theme?). So they were celebrating two-fold with a little party....and they were passing the sales onto you!

But only if you got one of the cheese panda's recommended cheese. 30% off of all of those, but if you picked one outside of that list, all you earned was a disapproving look and a shake of his head. Which was an improvement from when he used to attack people for their poor taste in cheese, at least!

So come get some cheese, celebrate with the cheese panda, or just do regular shopping or whatever since, you know, that's the whole point of the store.

You could tell Prompto was working on something really hard at the Photo Hut that day with the way he was leaning forward, eyes intent on the computer, with his tongue sort of sticking out of his mouth as he concentrated. A lot of it was moving the mouse around to adjust this, and fix that, no that didn't work, delete it, try again, maybe search for a couple of different pictures, now what sort of font? Ohgods, why do all these words look wrong now that he'd been looking at them with various fonts, come on, he'd made posters before, why was he having trouble getting this one to be what he wanted?

Well, because it was important. The planning had started to put together the Big Second Annual PuppyBowl Birthday Extravaganza!! for Noctra, and he really wanted to make sure the flyers were all it needed to be and more!

It was kind of cool, he realized, that two of his most favorite days in the entire multiverse, the Puppybowl and Noctra's birthday, were close enough to each other that he could merge them, and he really hoped that it would be a good long while before Noctra "grew out of it" and wanted to do something different. But the way he saw it? If he had the choice between matching his birthday between the two big holidays near/on it? He'd...

Well, okay, he was a hopeless romantic, so it would actually be a hard choice for him, but come on! Puppies playing football! That was the best birthday association a person could have, right?

Right!

Either way, he had a poster to design, and he was going to design the heck out of it!

Nell had not been affected by the whatever it was that had disappeared yesterday and then returned, so she was confused by customers coming in and asking her if she was relieved that 'it' was back.

But, being a good shop person, she just agreed and went on with the day, feeling a little bewildered.

The flowers were laughing at her behind her back. Apparently they had their own little 'Flower Tok' thing going on.

Despite Danny's assertions, Steve didn't see himself as a delicate hot-house flower. He just didn't love being cold!

That was a long way to explaining why he was still wearing his giant puffer coat inside.

There was a marked lack of baked goods at the store today. There were, however, a shipment of figures that had just arrived, all of the one character. Mostly cheap minis, but there was a very large, heavy and expensive one, and a slightly smaller but still large and expensive figure, both in the same outfit.

Now, Vi wasn't that familiar with the show this was from but..."Didn't they only wear that in one episode?"
