Sometimes, you got artifacts that you knew exactly what they were for. Sometimes, you got artifacts that you had no idea what they were for. And then, sometimes, you got artifacts that you knew what they were for, technically, but still had no idea how, or, more importantly, why?

Like the newly-arrived helm of the host. What would possess someone to wear this? What about the weight? The balance? The likelihood of it getting caught on literally everything?

Maybe someone would want to buy it as a conversational piece, because surely no one was stupid enough to want to buy it and use it as an actual helmet.

Helm of the Host
They say two heads are better than one. If so, this helm is the best ever.

Today was National Limerick Day and Apu wanted to run a contest: submit an original limerick about Fandom Island or anything Fandom Island inspired, and the best one was going to win a hefty gift card for the store, and Summer didn't really figure anyone would have much to offer or want to go through the trouble, so of course she was fine with it. Especially since, if anyone did feel so inspired after all, it would be pretty entertaining to see what they came up with.

Apu had even offered his own contribution:

There once was a store on an island
Whatever you wanted, you could find 'em
Except tape of a duct
Then you were fucked
You gotta go somewhere else to buy them.

Which, really, rhyming island with 'end 'em' and 'buy them' was kind of a stretch, but Summer did always appreciate a good F-bomb. There was a good chance that panda was working on one, too, but was getting a little stuck on what he wanted to use to rhyme with gouda.

Prompto's ability to focus on this was much better this week, and it was a good thing, too, because he had a ton of photos, from both the camping trip and the welcome picnic, and just about a gazillion things in between, to cull through and see which ones were worth keeping and even better, which ones he could brush up and maybe print off to give to friends or use for his website. And maybe he could start getting to some of those emails he'd been kind of neglecting and get a gig in this weekend. Lots of summer weddings coming up! He did always feel a little nervous taking big gigs like that, in case something weird happened on the island that prevent him from following through, but that was why he had a back-up replacement photographer partnership with some people on the mainland!

Basically, his card came with an 'in case of emergency, call these people.'

Hmmm, he should also try to get some new stock photo work up, too. Maybe try to see what's popular these days and think about what holidays or events were coming up that people might be turning toward stock photos to fulfil their needs for...

...well, okay, so his focus wasn't great, it never was, but at least this week, it was productive? That worked, right?

The Photo Hut is open!

Apparently there was a new pope? And he was from Chicago? Look, Raiden wasn't Catholic, but he could celebrate a theme.

Steve came back to the office after his weird banana project and decided to start on his homework assignment. A mischievous smile on his face, he picked up the phone and called back to Hawai'i. "Chin Ho!" he said with a grin, "I have twenty bucks and a dream, brah. Can you go on a shopping run for me?" Then he gave details about what he had in mind.

Class would be entertaining for him next week, at least? Homework in progress, Steve started looking into the small crime wave of lawn gnome larceny.

Man, he missed gang wars sometimes. The Trooper Station was open!

Tiny had an inordinate amount of maraschino cherries and toothpicks out tonight.

"I'm not going to ask," Eric told him. "I'm not."

The Devil's Nest was open. Tiny was apparently inspired.

There was a bit of a theme going on with the games on display today. A theme that Vi wasn't going to get until after she took a break to go to class.

Before then, however, she was going to be frowning in confusion. A lot.

Afterwards she was also going to be frowning in confusion, just for an entirely different reason.
