At Luke's Diner

Marty walks into Luke's Diner. He ignores the scowl but accepts the offer of coffee.

"What do you want? That omelette that really isn't an omlette?"

"Actually, I'm waiting for someone. Mind if I sit here?"

Luke sighs with frustration and walks away.

Marty smiles and waits for a certain redhead to show up.

The Sale is Open

Under the shade of the Millennium Falcon a veritable treasure trove lies waiting for shoppers.

In the far northwest corner, four hastily welded racks hold clothing. One is designated "Male," one "Female," one "Non-Bipedal" and one "Indeterminate." Most are priced at $3.

Just south of this is a tarp with tools laid out neatly on it. Hydrospanners, sonic screwdrives, a rather prosaic hammer looking quite alien amid the fluidics tools, doid parts. A sign says "Tools: $2 each or 6 for 10"

Crates are stacked neatly, a sign saying "$2 each, indestructable under normal use."

Closer to the ship, there is a table with various jewelry, mostly costume, some of it not designed for human anatomy. Each piece is labeled, starting at $5.

Belts, boots and accessories are under the cockpit. There is a dazzling array of sizes and colors and leathers. Some are obviously women's shoes, some are men's, some are unisex. A big sign reads "Belts $3 or 4 for $10. Boots and shoes $2/pair or 3 pair for $5"

Odd bits of camping gear, dishes, flasks, ship parts and such round out the sale. A few holocubes and obviously well-used hand-held players are marked "Player $10, cubes $3 each"

Solo himself sits in the shade, a moneybox under his chair, a drink beside him and an adventure movie playing on his holoprojector.

Always Open

The Bada Bing is Always Open. Even after hours when it is supposed to be closed, it is open, if you know where to go or who to ask.

Tony is often an absentee landlord, and rarely works behind the bar as he is a busy man with many aspects of his business to run and many family issues to resolve.

So for playing purposes, even if nobody is "manning the store", feel free to come in and have a drink, get in a fight, get 86'd for harassing the girls, buy a piece... of some kind... and generally create some mayhem.

Until some locals are hired, the girls are all goodlooking, frequently with Russian accents and the bartenders look vaguely wise, and not in the Dalai Lama kind of way.

There is a bar, booths along the walls, a few small tables and several stage/tables (some with poles) that seat about ten and a main stage for dancers that give big shows at night and on weekends. There is also limited menu for ordering anytime of day, sandwiches and appetizer kinds of things for the most part, use your imagination. There are a few private areas for our more discerning guests... membership only for those areas... ask about our privilege rates.

(for those of you who are aware, no this Bada Bing is not entirely canon)

Tony has an office in back, an apartment upstairs and there is the kitchen as well. Behind the stage is the dressingroom for the girls, and some other smaller rooms for storage... and whatever.

The door to the john is next to the kitchen door and there is a back door conveniently located, as well as largish windows in the john itself, in case they are needed. Tony has a private restroom off his office.

The interior is dark, what you can see of the furnishings shows well worn tables and chairs and a carpet that has seen better days. It smells of beer, stale smoke, spilled shots, faint traces of the perfume the girls wear and maybe a hint of gunpowder, you aren't sure what that might be.

Come in, have a drink, drop a dollar in a g-string. Come by after midnight for the all nude show.

And yes, there may be a ladies night planned with some beefcake for you to ogle, but the ladies are always welcome even when it is only the pretty girls to see. The feminine form is a work of art to be appreciated by all.

Never a cover charge, always discreet, the beer is cold and the vodka never watered.

Welcome!

Perkolator looks pretty quiet today, but people passing by notice the following notice chalked onto a slate in the window.

After a quiet Friday, Cinema Cohen -- the town's one-screen vintage 40's movie theater -- is open for business. Today, the marquee reads:

RED EYE (PG-13)
FRIDAY * SATURDAY * SUNDAY
1 P.M. * 4 P.M. * 7 P.M. * 10 P.M.

Tickets are $7. And remember, kids, thrillers make great date movies.

Murphy shows up in front of Championship Vinyl a few minutes before noon. Door's open, but no sign of Rob.

The record player's still on, and the register doesn't seem to have been messed with... so for the time being, he'll assume everything's alright. Mainly because he hasn't heard of any townsfolk (other than the teachers) having disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

I woke up late thanks to a most enjoyable night of margaritas and conversation with [livejournal.com profile] mrsvandekamp and [livejournal.com profile] bridekiddo. It was honestly the most fun I've had with "the girls" since Abbie and Donna and Amy and I used to sit around and shed our jobs and just talk.

Since I am without a car for the forseeable future, I think I'll take a walk through the park and wander a bit around town. So many new businesses have opened up. I think if I cut up through the park and then make my way back through town towards Perkolator to grab a latte and maybe a bite to eat, then I can get back in time to feed Gail, take a long bubble bath, and read my new book. My bathroom is so pleasant and peaceful now, especially with the lovely perfume of orchids. *sigh* I must thank the Doctor for such a lovely and thoughtful gift.

*Suddenly thinking more about the Doctor than her afternoon excursion, she dresses in mint green yoga pants, white scoop-neck tee, and a matching mint green hoodie. She pulls her hair back in a loose ponytail, ties on her cross trainers, drops her keys and small wallet in her pocket, and sets out*

*Maia sits happily eating an ice cream cone under a bright pink and orange umbrella, slightly bored because her boyfriend landed himself in detention and semi annoyed with the non observance of detention she bites into her mint chocolate chip cone waiting for someone to come along into the town and hang out. She does not have a lot of friends but what she does have is choice.*

[For all intents and purposes, the Doctor will be sitting outside the TARDIS in a lawn chair all this evening, sipping a mojito, listening to Gerry Rafferty, and reading a book. At the appropriate time, he will watch the sunset. Then he will go get a light and continue to sit outside.

Anyone in town is free to join him, as he has more lawn chairs and mojitos inside.]

((This will be played in sorta slow time for most of the night, as the mun has decided that she needs to appropriate free drinks be social for a bit, and will be popping in and out of her room. The Doctor would like to state that even though he likes Gerry Rafferty very much, he is still not Scottish.))

Duce was bored. She'd spent most of the last night working on the gremlin cage, which now resembled nothing so much as a giant Lexan habitrail covering most of one wall of the apartment. Leaving a note for her somnombulant roommate, Duce grabbed her rucksack and decided to head to town again.

Finding her spot on the rim of the fountain empty, she parked herself and pulled out a sketchpad. Working quickly, she roughed in a scene of the street and a view of the campus. She then spent some time people watching and drawing small caricatures.

After my walk, latte and biscotti, and a long bubble bath with a good book, I feel refreshed and upbeat. I also feel more cooped up in this apartment. I think I'll go to that lovely restaurant I passed, Nolita's, and have some dinner.

[ After dinner, CJ pockets crackers and bread and heads to the lake at the park to feed the ducks and other birds. While in the park, she notices a Doctor-shaped person sitting in the park next to a...phone booth? And a girl? And decides it would be the polite thing to do to go say hello]

Remus has been restless.

He knows the phases of the moon like he knows his own name, and he knows . . . it's tonight.

The hope, all along, was that a place like Fandom High would be more understanding of someone like him, but he'll know for certain tomorrow how they all really feel.

Because he can't stop it. He can't control it. He can't do anything but . . . change.

Methos is tired -- still. Hasn't found the dratted Immortal. Screw that. He's going into town for a beer. Or twelve. There are at least two bars in town, as well as a strip joint, so he shouldn't have a problem.

At Spike's pub, he he notices a few female students sitting in a corner talking, including one of his new library assistants. Not wanting to be bothered to bother then, he sits at the bar.

"Newcastle brown, draft if you've got it, bottle if not, and keep it coming," he says grumpily.

He'd worry about driving home tonight if a) he had a home and b) he had a car.

Allie wakes up from sleeping off her hangover.

She wanders in to the kitchen to fix herself a light meal and wonders where all her roommates are.

The raddled old priest stumbles over to the church and unlocks the door. He just avoids falling over the step, but the bottle of Old Horizontal in his hand never gets close to being spilt. He makes his unsteady way to the booth at the western end of the nave, enters, and plants himself heavily on the chair within. His crisp, clear voice grates out across the church.

Confessional ... Arse!
