Jack yawns as he staggers into the shop and opens it up, still half-asleep at the crack of noon. He flops down into the chair and immediately sits up again as something digs into his back. He pulls out a copy of 'Clint's Wild Ride' and growls. "That little Russian is going to be the death of me . . ." He flings it aside and busies himself with the newspaper. Five minutes later, he can't resist and is engrossed in the story of the independent rodeo rider and his fiery mail-order bride.

Fly By Night is open for business.

Blood Gulch Arms - Friday

If the shop is open, it has more to do with Tex having forgotten to flip the sign to 'closed' last night than anything else. The chair normally present behind the counter is lying in pieces against the far wall of the shop. Tex herself is squatted down in front of the armoured door, her assault rifle is lying across her knees and her eyes are fixed on the door. She hasn't moved in hours.

Zhaan has been listening to Christmas music all day, lost in the tangles of comercialisation versus family versus atheism. She remembers once disbelieving in the power of gods. The idea of John Crichton believing in something like Santa Claus and the first Reindeer is very, well, Crichton to her, and it gives her something to smile about.

The idea that Tex is nothing like Aeryn also occurs to her, but she'd rather not think about that. Not yet, at least.
