Michael still has his cricket bat within reach. He debates even opening the store, but decides there might actually be a few legitimate sales to make even amid the chaos. There is, however, a new sign on the door that says "for sale -- see owner for details."

ETA: At midday, Michael has had all the jitters he can take and closes up the shop.

((ooc: Second verse same as the first -- am open to having windows busted and merchandise ruined if you so feel like it. However, work is again pretty busy, so going to be very slow til around 5:30 MST.

ETA: Guys? I just cannot do this today. Between someone trying to steal my car overnight and getting a MASSIVE sudden deadline thrown at me [I'm posting now while crap is printing but need to get back], I can't do anything this afternoon. Sorry. Feel free to come loot while Michael's out.))

Caritas - Morning

Lorne opened the doors to Caritas early today. After all the shenanigans that has happened in the last couple of days, he thought it was important to have a place where the townspeople could feel safe from harm.

He then spent the rest of the morning trying to explain to the zombie band why they couldn't eat anyone at the opening of the new restaurant in town.

"First? Kind of rude. People are expecting food, drink and some light dinner music and the next thing they know a rotting corpse is having them for a light snack."

"Brrrrraaaaaaiiiiiiiins."

"See Rico? This is the exact kind of thing that makes people want to kill you. Again. Do you really want to perpetuate that stereotype?"

Jarod sat at one of the tables, nursing a very large cup of black coffee as he tried to shake off the remnants of his nightmare. He didn't understand how Parker could drink the stuff without cream and sugar, but maybe she actually enjoyed the bitterness. He chuckled bitterly. Knowing Parker, she thrived on it.

He took another sip and stared at his cell phone. She hadn't called yet and he couldn't get on campus to see if she was really okay. He began to debate whether it was worth it to sneak past campus security.

The park, morning

Listening to the radio broadcast had done nothing to improve Tex' mood. The town was still in disarray and no one was stepping up to take control and bring order. No one except for that weasel with too big ears and she really didn't trust him. He'd probably screw her over with weapon taxes if he could. As a freelancer she'd learned that the only person to trust was herself, so maybe it was time for her to step in.

Luke is still grumbling about glitter after Jaye stopped by last night.

He's also grumbling because Lorelai volunteered him to host some stupid faculty dinner at the diner next week.

And in further grumbling news, he's annoyed by the huge, glittery sign that Lorelai gave him to hang in the window that says Help Wanted. He would throw it in the trash if he wasn't afraid of her pregnancy hormones. With a sigh, he hangs it in the window.

[ooc: open to all; luke may or may not be available to interact, however you may mod npc employees. he really does need to hire some help, so if anyone is looking for a job, stop by. additionally, anyone is welcome to open a luke's post at any time, just don't mod luke or any other in game employee without permission.]

The office looked peaceful. The Baron's larder, on the other hand, did not.

"Oi! Baron!"

"Yes, Muta?"

The huge white cat rolled himself to his feet. "Don't you have anything to eat around here?"

"I did, Muta. You ate it all," the Baron replied mildly, looking over some papers at his desk.

"I couldn't have. I only get here yesterday."

"Plenty of time for you, Muta. There is an excellent bakery around the corner. Jeff, the God of Biscuits."

"Too far." He flopped down on to the couch. "Why don't you go, Baron?"

"Because I'm working."

"Hmmph."

He'd been staying indoors for the most part over the past few days and needed some air. Knowing that Phale had an eye on him from whereever the angel had flitted off to for the moment, Wilson settled down on the reinstated park bench with scones and ducks.

It was soothing to feed the greedy little buggers, though at this rate the ducks were going to end up big enough to pop.

Wilson's expression was somewhere far away, caught up in different thoughts as he fed ducks and breathed the chilly evening air.

[ooc: Feel free to use for your own nefarious park activities. Wilson is always up for a chat but I'm not putting him out here to be harassed.]

Jarod walked into Caritas, more than a little surprised to find that it was open and appeared to have been doing a brisk business. He cleared away empty glasses and restocked the bar supplies, happy to have something to do. He was still exhausted and a bit...off...after his nightmare. At least he'd spoken with Parker and she was safe.

He took his customary spot behind the bar, but slid the emergency stake into his back pocket, just in case.

Jake was still sulking about the loss of his hand and was eating chocolate cake - lots of chocolate cake - in attempt to make up for the lost mass. He was also drinking mocha. Jake rather liked chocolate.
