Edmund is sitting at the counter, and unlike most of the world, is not doing a Sudoku puzzle. He is perusing a large stack of catalogs and attempting to determine the exchange rate between 19th century pounds, 21st century American dollars, and some sort of barter system that appears to involve his DNA.

He is available to "help" you.

The fact that everyone on the island, with the possible exception of Artie, has had no difficulty paying for their purchases and that the mayor is an attractive, albeit truculent, woman may be contributing to his good mood this morning.

Agatha yawned and flipped the sign to 'Open'. She had had a restless night, like her mun and was tired, but the shop had to get opened. She sat down at the counter, placed her head on her hands and tried not to fall asleep.

[[ooc: shop is open, come in, wake her up]]

The Baron was very pleased. He had had a delightful weekend in the Kingdom of Cats with Alfred, and had found his shop fully restored when he returned late Sunday evening after taking care of some business outside of Fandom. His larder was stocked, he had no pressing business, and he was going to make himself a cup of tea.

It was good to be home.

Once again, Orlin had nothing to do. Being the handyman for Quark had so far been very easy, he didn't do anything. He sat on the bench, the remaining, undismantled discman playing Scissor Sisters from the head phones hanging around his neck. It was a nice, if somewhat brisk day. Orlin stretched out his legs and let the sun warm him slightly.

He had had a good weekend, he knew a few people, he had learned he could sing opera in Italian and dance very well. Life was good.

He pondered what he felt like randomly creating this week. Maybe he could modify the laundry rooms washer... maybe Quark wouldn't notice....

[[ooc: Come talk, have random discussions about whatever. Orlin is just chilling]]

Kiki sits on a park bench, tossing crusts to the ducks.

With the source of the scones and biscuits gone, the ducks are just going to have to make do with plain old wheat bread.

Emo?

Yeah, just a little. It kills the time until class.

Cafe Fina

While vacation is nice, it's always good to get back to work.

Alfred has set out the flowers, arranged some outside tables, and opened Cafe Fina for bussiness.

[[OCD threads up in a minute! OCD threads up! Also, the mun is feeling not at all well. In fact, he is feeling quite unpleasantly ill. Forgive him if he is slow to respond.]]

Quark had gotten word of Tex's little coup.

He decided staying indoors for the next... forever or so might be best for his health. So now, he simply sits back and relaxes behind the counter of the apartment lobby. He still doesn't have the holosuite up and running, but he'll bother Harper about that later. For now, it's a quiet afternoon between Quark and a bottle of Slug-O-Cola.

[ooc: Open for interaction, but mainly for the new basement resident.]
[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com
Jarod opened the bar like he did almost every Monday, waved to the band like he did almost every Monday, then began setting up like he did almost every Monday. He and Parker had mostly made up, although there had been some momentary weirdness about their interactions lately that he couldn't quite put his finger on.

He yawned, and tried to think of something to do with his days. It's possible there was a good reason he was never allowed to fall into his own routine before.

[ooc: Will be afk until about 6:30 pm, EST. Feel free to mod your own drinks before then.]

"Hey, tubby, it just me or is this place dead?"

Silent Bob shrugged.

Jay bounced back and forth for a minute. "Hey, tubby, why do we always stand in this same spot?" Silent Bob just looked at him, and Jay slumped. "Yeah, yeah, I know." He bounced a few more times.

"Damn, tubby, I'm bored."

Silent Bob rolled his eyes. It was going to be a looooong night.

It was so very different, Natalie thought as she wandered along the path, to have an entire night to herself. There was no lab work to do, no autopsies waiting, no pager to go off -- at least not yet. Not that autopsies should be a normal part of the work here...Or I hope they won't be.

She paused, lowering herself onto a bench. There was too much silence. The breeze stirred through the trees, and she felt the chill wash over from the river. Her ears prickled at the sounds that carried from town -- the clatter of silverware against plates; a few passing cars; laughter, conversations. She was so far from it all. Not for the first time lately, she felt isolated and alone.

Why had he sent her here? Why couldn't she have stayed with him? Hell, she would have even preferred Janette's company at this point, than none at all. It was safe, he had said. Safe for what? For her? For him? Certainly, she was likely to be able to continue her research here undisturbed, but some part of her knew the real reason: He was still afraid of her. Of them. Of us.

Drawing her knees to her chest, she sat for a while and listened to the city around her. Time to think, that's what she needed. She sighed. She wasn't in a hurry to go home. At least, not yet.
