Paige figured since she was staying there she might as well open the shop, so she turned over the sign and started to do some homework while she waited to see if Geoff anyone would show up today.

She also realised it was just over a week til Valentine's Day and it looked like she was going to spend it alone, or possibly with the poet depending on how he was.

Agatha opened the shop, and laid out her tools. Today was the day she was starting work on the new cash register. To further this, she was taking the old cash register apart first.

[come in, point and laugh, whatever.]

...and not onto St. Michael's Street, like he should have.

He turned to his right. No Cornmarket Street. Giles whirled to look left. He should have been able to see the Radcliffe Camera in the distance.

Oxford was gone.

Giles slowly turned completely around, really looking at what was around him, trying desperately to assimilate what he was seeing while standing on what appeared to be an open street corner.

"Dear Lord..." he breathed.

His hands fell against his sides, and he heard and felt the crinkle of paper in his jacket pocket. Funny, he'd just got it back from the cleaners. There shouldn't be anything in the pockets. He reached in and pulled out a thick vellum envelope. He opened it.

Mr. Giles,

While we of the Upper Council have deemed your service meritorious and deserving of the retirement you requested, we are loathe to part with a person of your experience and knowledge. As per your petition, we have arranged for a dimensional transfer. However, we would ask that you keep a casual eye on the goings on in regards to our interests.

No signiture or complimentary closing. Just the seal of the Upper Council. Sanguine, a crow sable.

Inside was a map with what looked to be a bookstore circled in red, an obscene amount of cash, and some keys.

Giles sighed and paused a moment to clean his glasses. Well, he'd asked for it. He might as well go see what awaited him.

Lucas has opened up the shop and is sitting at the sales desk, though not with his sudoku. Instead he has a laptop out and is peering, eyebrow perpetually raised, at various websites.

It could be he's researching information regarding the weird phone call he got yesterday. More likely, he's looking at the sort of websites he ought not to be looking at while working.

Today's music mix is classic blues and jazz.

Ferdinand The Baron had received some a packet of some rather disturbing reports via cat-courier. It seemed that war was breaking out back home and there was very little he could do about it, even without being stuck here in Fandom. Nevertheless, he was marshalling his contacts. At least if there was a functioning intelligence network this thing might be over before it began.

For anyone who came in, he would be looking very busy and distracted, but with the kettle perpetually on.

Lorne seems to be in a slightly less chipper mood than he has been lately. He makes sure that the bar is fully stocked and that the zombie band has all their appendages, but his mood is somewhat somber.

Which may be why his choice of an opening number seems... different.

Orlin was tinkering with the washing machine. And when tinkering is said, it should be said then that Orlin was actually dismantling the whole thing and rebuilding it separatly. If you live in Mauvais Chance, have no fear, it will be reassembled into a washing machine that looks nothing like a washing machine. That said, time to move on.

Kneeling on the floor, holding the frontal valve and a jury-rigged tumbler compressor that would toss the clothes into a frothy whirl of soap and water, and contemplating the water removal device, Orlin hummed along to the Moonlight Sonata by Beethovan. If he was lucky, Quark wouldn't come into the laundry room anytime soon, and no one would be wanting to wash their clothing. If he was not lucky some one would come in with a months worth of laundry.

There are parts all over the room, tools all over the room, it looks like a tornado went through it, but its Orlins organized chaos. And he's having a good time. So it works.

[[if you want to interrupt and have convo, Orlin is always up to talk, for those of y'all who haven't noticed that yet:)]]

Alfred sets up the tables, puts out the flowers, and tells the chefs to start making a few things even before people come in to have them.

'Cause, ya know. He's Alfred.

[[OOC: OCD threads up in a second. OCD threads up. Also, lunch will have to be slowplayed at around 5:30 CST, as the mun has choir rehersal. Walter will be handling dinner time.]]

The shoppe is open, and Tonks is, for the first time in awhile, out of the lab. She's sitting in the picture window, looking somehow in place among sparkly pink Valentine's Day decorations. And worrying. Just a little.

Things were FUBAR if Tex actually missed her store. At least she called the shots here and there was no Appo breathing over her shoulder encouraging her to be polite. Whoever programmed that clone with social skills should be shot. So she sat behind her counter, datapad in hand and ignored the du- Appo standing guard across the street.

((Woe, no link to the shop lay out as I can't get memories to work. Err, it's bare!))

Having gotten a bit of a primer on Fandom, Natalie emerged from Caritas a bit more wary of her surroundings than before. That there were other vampires to contend with changed things slightly. Not that she couldn't handle herself in a hissing contest; she was more worried about what type of community she found herself in. Did they feed on humans or did they stock up at the local butcher? And if she was going to continue her research, would they pose a threat? She wouldn't know the answers until she met one of them...and that was a prospect Natalie wasn't looking forward to.

Her mind wandered as she walked, keeping her occupied. )

With a sigh, she arrived once again at the park. Across the pond, she could see her apartment building, the lights offering a warm glow on such a chilly evening. She had to admit it was a beautiful night -- clear, cold with people still bustling about...and a phone booth in the middle of the lawn.

She shrugged. This really was a strange place.

Jarod sat behind the desk, waiting for a customer to come in. As long as he was there, he began a hack of the Centre's mainframe. Unfortunately, they'd updated their firewalls since the last time he'd gone in, so this was going to take some time.
