Sparky Repairs, Friday

It was Hikaru's turn again to come to Sparky's this morning. He had early on noticed the lack of business...or even life in the shop, so he set to work on a sign that read:

Sparky Repairs!
Free Balloons!
Nothing Necessary to get one!
They're Colorful!

He hoped this would draw SOMEONE near the shop. He had even tied some balloons to Emo and Goth, despite the moans, and a few metallic ones to the door handle for those attracted by shiney objects.

Sparky's is open for business!!

Aereopagitica: Friday [9-22]

Lana opened up the shop a little late, still feeling worried about the whole Phoebe and Cole thing. Phoebe had spent the night in Lana's room and had refused Lana's offer to kill Cole, but Lana still wasn't sure she'd be able to run into him without wanting to hurt him.

Still, she had a job to do, so she got everything ready and opened up the shop.

Ching Tai (Friday evening)

Josh didn't believe in curses, which was why he was waiting for Tex at Ching Tai.

Okay, he might've believed in curses.

Maybe he was hoping just a little bit to be stood up.

But he certainly wasn't going to admit to that. For all he knew, Tex could read minds.

Kaylee opened the store after class and waited behind the counter for any customers that might show up. Today's music? U2. She had just discovered one of their CDs the day before. She was still enjoying earth music.

Caritas - Friday evening [Open]

GOB was putting up some posters announcing how successful last Saturday's dating thing was. He tried to staple one to a zombie's head.

That's why he was at the bar, nursing a drink and a black eye. But Caritas was open.

Evening: Sanctity

Zhaan was dusting with a will. Her long absence trip to Peru, Vienna and Venice had left a veritable mountain of dust on her wares. With a grimace, she also began sorting out herbs that were a bit on the, shall we say, musty side.

The place smelled like a perfumery had been dropped on top of a beauty shop before she was half done.

Batou had fled at the first sign of trouble, taking Gabriel with him.

The James T. Kirk Causeway; Friday Afternoon.

The trek from the dormitory to the causeway was a quiet one, Sakurazaki shifting again through the papers for the orders that Yuuko had given her, Ranma walking beside her, being generally quiet and nervous. It would seem that he was being thoughtful, but that would seem like a misnomer, as his mind was really more scattered, thinking of planes and Setsuna and the sky and Setsuna and water and, wow, he was really about to China with Setsuna for the weekend.

When they reached the causeway, Sakurazaki tucked the papers back into her bag, her single bag for the trip, and gave a little sigh. She wasn't looking forward to the flight at all. She looked over toward Ranma. //"Ready for this?"//

It was only about the fifteenth time she had asked.

He nodded, despite the fact that he wasn't. He felt a little better, yeah, but he still....well, it was hard to get an omen like that out of his head. //"Y...yeah,"// he said quietly, nodding again.

Sakurazaki smiled at him, trying to be encouraging. //"Still worried about it?"//

Ranma shrugged. //"Yeah. Uh, not as much, though."//

//"That's good."// Sakurazaki nodded. //"Because you shouldn't be. Everything will be fine. We'll have a nice time in China with Kaede and Ku Fei, and then we'll get rid of your curse, and everything will be fine. I've planned this thing down to the very last detail, Ranma; it's watertight. What could possibly go wrong?"//

If given enough time, Ranma could probably think of a list of things that could be wrong. He didn't need to, though, he just...had a feeling tat Setsuna was very, very wrong. She was going to China with him. Something would have to go wrong.

But he didn't have enough time to think, because the cab was approaching them from the mainland, and Sakurazaki straightened her shoulders with the resolve to start their journey.
