Johnny was tired when he came into the shop and he wasn't exactly sure why. He slept like a rock last night, even after his phone call to Sue. He figured the vat of coffee he handwavily grabbed from The Perk on the way to work would do the trick.

The Photo Hut is open for business.

Turtle yawned and stretched a little as she opened the shop and settled behind the counter for another days work; all that coffee yesterday didn't really help her get much sleep last night. So she barely even noticed how crappy it tasted as she kicked up her legs, tilted her chair back, and shifted through the Wall Street Journal.

Today's Squishy flavors: Tab, Mr. Pib, Red.

Turtle & Canary is open!

Yitzhak had finally gotten that wig detangled, but now he was fairly convinced it was missing hairs; he had it up on the counter and was squinting at it intently today.

It might only last for today, but he'd managed to convince the cook to keep the specials fairly simple, dammit.

Today's Specials
Eggs Benedict
Hickory Smoked Bacon Burger
(100% bacon patty)
Sloppy Joe and Steak Fries
Water Salad
Janet Jackson Breast Cupcakes

. . . okay, that last one was all Yitzhak.

Luke's is open, but (hopefully) without the uproar over decency.

The Beach, all day

No workshops and no library meant that Isabel was free to head to the beach to start working on her tan. Spreading out her blanket, she carefully applied some sunscreen. Days at the beach weren't fun if you wound up looking like a lobster.

[OPEN!]

[ETA: RL calls me. I'm going to be pretty much AFK till later this afternoon.]

It had been a really pretty morning and Katara had drawn out her time at the beach as much as possible before scrambling to get to the post office mostly on time.

Once she was there, she fiddled, stacking magazines and pretending she was sorting mail before she moved onto important tasks like classifying the paper clips by size and trying to make paper clip strings for Not Tiddles to chase across the floor.

That had only lasted a few minutes before Not Tiddles decided that Katara's hands were more fun to chase than the paper clips.  So Katara found herself up on the counter away from the cat and trying to read one of the many magazines the post office seemed to accumulate.

Jaina was back at the bar tonight, where the zombies were still practicing the first song she'd taught them. It actually didn't sound bad, except the guitarist's finger kept falling off on one certain chord, and that's the story of the first time she ended up duct taping something back to a zombie.

Magic Box, Wednesday

Giles stared at the large crate that had been delivered with his other shipments. The shipments he'd ordered. This crate? He hadn't. Considering some of the other things that had been delivered that he hadn't ordered, he was rather loathe to open it.

Perhaps he should send it back immediately unopened. That at least would prevent any more infestations of cheeping bunnies or murderous mummy hands. But... then he wouldn't know what was in it. Giles took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes; curiosity was going to be the death of him, really.

So he hadn't made a decision yet and until he did, the crate would remain in the back. Just sitting there.

Lurking.

The Magic Box was open.

Kabuto made sure the bar was clean before opening. He also checked, just to be absolutely sure, that the bottles had not been creatively rearranged again.

Running out of things to do, he began color-coding the little drink umbrellas. Mazikeen wasn't there to tell him not to touch them, after all.

Just before dusk, the temporary movie screen is set up. There's a large open area in front of it, where movie-goers can spread out blankets or set up lawn chairs. Some people are already gathered, picnicking while the sun sets.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be are up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs.]

Chris was a little late for work because Prue had kept getting distracted by birds and squirrels and blowing leaves as they walked from the dorm to the store.

But he managed to get the coffee, tea and pastries out and Prue settled with a treat near the counter.

[ooc: sorry for the late post; I've been sick the last few days.]

Billy sat on one of the swings, arms hooked around the chains, and leaning back. It was too cloudy to see any stars, but that was okay, it made him feel insulated.

Oddly enough, this was the first time he could ever remember being on a swing. He began turning the swing, twisting the chains up slightly, then letting it spin back.

open like an open thing

After hanging around the store a little long to kill time after closing, Turtle, who really didn't know when cheerleading practice got over, went to Chilly Boulder, got her usual turtle sundae with way more caramel than fudge. She took it over to a table by the window, so she could watch people and make private comments to herself about their shoes as they passed by and she waited for Rikku. If she managed to finish it before she got here, oh, well. Will just have to get another one.

That thought made her dig into the sundae a little quicker. Mmmm, ice cream.

[[ as it says, Turtle's here to meet with [livejournal.com profile] the_merriest, but certainly open for all your ice cream needs ]]

Gabriel hade picked up a coffee and a box full of donuts and was now devouring them all by himself. Perhaps someone should inform him of the health hazards involved with that kind of food for a human body.

[The church is open. I'm back, yay!]
