Naminé was distracted at work today. Because she'd been sketching since Tuesday and it hadn't worked yet. She wasn't trying hard enough, that must be it.

Luke's Diner, August 23 (Thursday)

If Yitzhak looked more haggard than usual this morning (which he was, but it might be hard to tell), he was blaming it on the dicey bread pudding he'd had with dinner last night, and not at all on having dreamed about Hedwig.

Not at all. The copious amounts of Cheap Trick playing on the stereo behind the counter were purely a coincidence.

As was the large assortment of tarts that were on breakfast special today.

Luke's is open, in a not-bitter-at-all-really way.

[OOC: Meetings and projects and heavy training today, whee, plus I haven't been assigned my actual computer yet, and the one I've got now is not exactly the Little Engine That Could. This may clear up by next week. So for now, as per the rest of the week, pings'll get picked up when I get home.]

Post Office, Thursday

For the second week in a row, Sokka promptly fell asleep on the counter as soon as he'd opened the post office. He had to stop staying up late on Wednesday nights.

Turtle & Canary; Thursday [ 08/23 ]

Yesterday, if you'd have told Turtle that she'd be in a good mood today, she would insist on having you committed. But, wouldn't you know, there she was feeling pretty amazing. Not only was it inventory day, but her knees were back to normal, too. They'd gone back about half-way through Jeff carrying her back after radio last night, and, well, heck. If that didn't just make her sure that this boyfriend idea was a pretty good one. There were even sandwiches promised today.

Every so often, though, she got to thinking too much and getting herself a little down over Umbridge stuff again. But, if that happened, she just steeled herself and forced herself to think about her daily counts and forms. No use getting upset again. Getting upset again would mean Umbridge was winning, and that was not happening. Not if T.R. Wexler had anything to say about it.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Red, Blue, Sandwich.

Millie opened the store quite cheerfully and got everything all set out for customers. Then she settled down and curled up in a comfy chair with a good book. She was more than able to be interrupted should anyone need help.

Near Galatica Point, Thursday Morning

Joanna was there overseeing all the finial details before tomorrow's grand opening of the Wonders of the World miniature golf course and go-kart track. 

Construction and cleanup crews were running around like mad trying to finish everything on time.

There was a sign posted that read:

Giles unlocked the door and switched the sign from CLOSED to OPEN. He spent some time going over the order manifests from both his shop and the one in Sunnydale. There were some unusual things being shipped to the latter; Giles made a note to call Anya and see if he could get her to explain without any digressions into her and Xander's lovelife.

After that, he got out some of his spell books and went through them, looking for the rituals he wanted to focus on with Andrew in their lesson that afternoon.

The Magic Box was open.

The Preserve: Thursday lunch time

The Preserve was cool and shady, and Karal was smiling as Trenor picked his way into a very familiar clearing. Six months ago, he never would have thought Trenor's saddlebags would hold Chinese food, but then he never would have thought he'd be riding through the woods with his arms around Molly, or that such a place as Fandom even existed.

In the grand scheme of things, Chinese-laden saddlebags weren't that remarkable.

He drew Trenor to a halt and rested his chin on Molly's shoulder, maybe closing his arms around her a little tighter. "Do you think that this will do?"

Pizza Planet - Thursday evening

About a half an hour before the normal dinner time, the Pizza Planet shut it's doors and put up a sign:

Neil was positively bouncing as he came into the Nest that evening.

After all, he'd had a wonderful afternoon at the Perk!

Grinning widely at Musubi, he settled in to start cleaning the place, wall to wall. It might have been probable possible that he spent extra time out on the dancefloor, doing the Jitterbug with the mop.

Caritas, Thursday [8/23]

The zombie band was playing all kinds of different music. Their current selection?

"Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead!" They keep changing "Witch" to "Umbitch". Can't imagine where they might have gotten an idea for lyrics like those. No idea.

Phoebe and Tino looked like they might be having a drinking contest. Who could tell with the two of them.

Caritas is very definitely open.
