There were just a few last minute tweakings to be done on the boots and they were ready for a test run.

He had Dummie ready with a fire extinguisher in case anything went wrong, but he doubted it was need to be used. This shouldn't be too hard, right?

Although the Open sign was on the door, Cable wasn't particularly preoccupied with anything directly shop-related. Throughout the morning, he was checking weather reports, going over the Human Development Index numbers, double-checking some human rights materials with Irene, and, finally, loading up a gun or two.

Just in case. He wasn't planning to use it. When noon approached, he tacked a note reading On vacation in Madagascar. Back by Monday. If you need me, call my cell number. on the door leading to his apartment, and left.

He was pretty sure there was only one person on Fandom proper who even had his number, which suited him relatively fine at the moment. He had work to do.

... And a 'vacation' to go on.

After making sure everything in the store was in order, Isabel settled in behind the counter with her laptop to do some research on things to see while driving from Alexandria to Roswell.

Pixie Dust was open.

Since Hoshi had to bring a dish for her workshop next week, she opted to head for the kitchen and give her cooking skills a workout. It was only after she got started simmering the curry that she remembered a requirement about the dish being from her homeland. Oops. Well, it would still be okay for lunch.

If the park smells good, it might be due to the burgers sizzling on one of the built-in barbecue grills, the one Xander's actually standing at. Dotted around the picnic area are several more, and beside them on the grass are coolers of moddable burgers and hot dogs of both the meat and the not varieties, wings, possibly a steak or two if you're lucky, and various veggies for shish kebabs.

"For reference," Xander said, spearing a steak a few times, then holding it up. "This? Horrible barbecue fork accident. Dead from blood loss with half their throat torn out? Vampire. Learn the difference. This has been your safety lesson for the day. Oh yeah -- also try not to set yourselves on fire when you test out the grills."

Jamie was bored. Hence him building a pyramid out of canned corn.

And then another one out of green beans.

He was a pyramid building fool.

Mostly just a fool.

Cal was making sure there was plenty of coffee available at the diner today, finding himself in rather dire need of it, even if he still felt the taste of it was something he'd never quite grow to like all that much. Lots of cream and lots of sugar. He didn't even know why he was so tired; his was in a much better mood than he had been for the last week; maybe he just hadn't slept well last night and simply didn't realize it.

Oh, well. That was the benefit of working somewhere with lots of coffee, he supposed.

Eve was quite intrigued by the newest exhibit. She wasn't quite sure if she actually liked it or not, but she definitely found it intriguing. And she already had a couple favorite pieces, so she supposed it was just one of those exhibits that took more thought than others.

She liked art that made you think sometimes.

Today, there was no sign of Robin behind the bar. Just Tino, who was keeping a careful eye on the zombies, who were keeping an eye on the mummies.

Kind of literally, since the drummer had elected to throw one of his at them at some point earlier in the evening. That was when Robin decided she'd spend her night in the back doing some inventory work.

[it's my tiny sister's 18th b-day, so mod the Tino!]
