As if her current reasons for being annoyed with Jamie weren't enough, there was the whole fact that she had decided, being so responsible and all that, that it didn't matter if he was a dog or not. He was going to work today. Of course, that meant she had to go with him, to make sure he didn't escape, which meant that the moving she had to do today would be postponed until after the shift ended and the store was left entirely to Apu for the evening.

That was okay, though. Turtle had found a nice, easy way for Jamie, even as a puppy (especially as a puppy), to make it up to her. It involved a few (nice, soft, and mostly painless) kicks that, as it turned out, got Jamie to duplicate. A couple bottles of dye, some ribbons, glitter, and, finally, a sign later:

Cal came in for work at the diner in a good mood, which, for the most part, just meant that everything was cleaned a little better than it might have otherwise been. He still spent most of his time behind the counter either reading up on the play, playing solitaire with his incomplete deck, or (and this was his favorite) just staring off into nothing and thinking about...things.

Ah, the thrills of being such an exciting young individual.

Having handwavily let people know that they might want to wear beachy-type clothes today, Xander stood in front of several coiled-up garden hoses, and pointed to the biggest area of clear grass available.

"Since we're just about done here, I figured we could do a little lawn-care before we hit the road." Because a globe-hopping island totally didn't get enough moisture on its own, right.

And the extra-long, adult-sized Slip-n-Slides? Secret hi-tech lawn-tenderizing tool of master gardeners everywhere.

"Try to at least get some water on the grass?"

Millie was rather cheerful after having spent the better part of the week resting up from the weekend. Magically moving all those people all that distance had taken a huge amount out of her. She'd gone home Sunday and collapsed until her clinic shift on Monday, then returned home and slept for the better part of the next two days.

She set out treats for the customers and curled up in a comfy chair to read.

Savannah was once again at the store.

She had spent the early morning after coming back from the beach cleaning and rearranging the entire store, and now she was sitting behind the counter with an extra large coffee and a notebook. She might have been making a list of things from Benecio... or writing notes about the Cabals.

Lucas was glad to get back into the swing of things by showing for work. He'd spent yesterday calling home and explaining how he'd ended up in yet another coma to his mom. She was surprisingly understanding under the caveat that he visit soon.

Wonders had seen a lot of kids the previous day, so Lucas walked the course, making sure everything was in good condition before setting up behind the counter with his favorite ball polisher.

Eve's attention was only partly on the exhibit. The other part was worrying about Savannah and Johnny. But mostly Savannah. The girl was her daughter, after all.

She was trying to be professional and not let the worry show, though. Charlotte probably wouldn't appreciate a receptionist who looked visibly upset.

Apu seemed to agree with this, or at least he wasn't arguing with Sora's decorating the store in a tropical 4th of July theme.

Apu didn't know what to say to that one...

Cable had flipped the Open sign on the door as an afterthought early that morning, somewhere between coffee and leaving a dish of meat out for the cat, who appeared to find milk some kind of affront to his dignity.

He'd then proceeded on into the meditation room, where he spent most of the morning meditating. Upside down, as was the custom. It wasn't as restful as he'd like.

Gabriel was not in a good mood, but as he had managed to steal one of Cat's dead mice he had cheered up just a little. Otherwise being a vulture was rather dull.

Cat was not pleased. She much preferred the angel to the annoying bird.

Cassandra was still wearing her black dress from class earlier in the day. She had had it on long enough to have gotten as comfortable as she was going to so she actually managed to move relaxedly as she moved around the cafe. Apparently the dress was formal enough for a formal dessert suggestion. Her handwriting on the specials board was especially careful.

All things considered, Robin was still a little sore from the weekend. The downside was that she couldn't drink (or, well, she really shouldn't because she'd get Disapproving Looks.) The bright side was that she was on painkillers still, so she really didn't care.
