When Hinata had mentioned that she had been considering getting a job... subbing for Ino hadn’t been on her mind. After all, she’d only met the owner once, and she had no idea how he would react to...

Well. To Ino dropping the shift in her lap, taking Tether, and disappearing for some ‘business that couldn’t wait’. Knowing Ino this could be anything from a real emergency to, well, a really good sale. Hinata flushed a bit when she thought that, but didn't take it back. Admittedly, the puppy had been happy to go with her, but Hinata thought that was beside the point. She didn’t want any sort of trouble to come up because of this.

So, it was a rather nervous Hinata (accompanied by Yei) that had slipped inside the shop with a borrowed key, and opened the place for business.

Andrew was unpacking and cataloging the latest shipment. There was an entire box of shrunken head key chains, and he was trying to sort them out according to hair color. They were surprisingly life-like, which he was totally ignoring, because, um, gross.

The Magic Box was open!

Johnny'd come into work on time but instead of actually doing anything, he parked his butt behind the counter with the latest motocross magazine. He just couldn't be disturbed, thanks. Not like the kitchen staff would bother him. They've learned by now.

Jeff was still having some trouble getting used to not being a rock. That's why he arrived at the hotel early, sat down behind the desk, and utterly failed to move anywhere else for the rest of the day.

After a while, Nana padded over, flopped down on his feet, and began snoring so loudly, Jeff was certain he could hear the ceiling tremble.

[ no ocd and open! ]

Amber's given up on smut books for a while. The collection she had stored under her bed would suffice. So instead of cleaning anything (because oh my gosh the store was in super shape) she was sitting behind the counter trying to solve a Rubiks Cube. Apparently Apu thought this was amusing. Every now and then Amber let slide a curse. Damn things were hard to figure out.

SEE AMBER FOR TODAY'S SPECIAL!
If you don't, it's not her fault you were charged full price!

Tyler had gotten back into Fandom late the night before, too late to do anything but go home and lie in bed and not sleep for a couple hours.

At least there were some new infomercials for him to watch.

From the bruise discoloring one eye socket, it might be surmised his trip home had either not gone especially well (if you were a normal person) or had been better than he expected (if you were Tyler).

He gratefully sipped from a travel mug of black coffee as he played with his laptop, looking for experiments to do in class next semester. He might even pick a few things that didn't produce explosions.

[OOC: Open like a coffee shop.]

There were a series of ropes extending from the stern of the Immaculata to the pontoon on which Wonders of the World resided. Joanna Stayton was at the bow of her magnificent yacht, looking out over the water before her and talking on her cell phone. "No, mother, I'm not tugging it all the way to France."

...

"I don't care if the Vanderbilts think it would look cute sitting off their pier, I'm not doing it. They can get their own."

...

"I have half a mind to take it out and scuttle the whole thing. I loathe everything about this place. How am I supposed to know what wardrobe to bring out of storage if I they can't even tell me where the damn island is going to be from day to day?. Besides, the mansion here was stifling, and I'm running out of room for my shoes. Again."

...

"Whatever do you mean, friends? Mother, are you taking your pills? Put the doctor on, I'm worried about your mental facilities."

...

"I assure you, there is no one I'm going to miss. Now, I've got to go. Andrew is coming with my lunch, and I plan to be underway before I take my first bite."

...

"Love to Shnukums." Joanna hung up the phone. "Captain!" she yelled. "I want to see white water in five! Get me away from this hell hole."

She looked firmly forward as the yacht moved slowly away from Fandom, miniature golf course in tow. Joanna wouldn't look back, afraid someone might notice that the moisture under her eyes wasn't from the salty spray.

[OOC: NFI. It's been a blast playing Joanna with you all, but it is time for her to move on. Thanks for putting up with her crap. All former employees can handwavily expect a hefty severance check arriving in the mail.]

Liir was in something of an odd mood today.

For one, emotion was always a strange thing for him. It wasn't anything he was used to dealing with, obviously; it had been a new experience since Kiamo Ko. Something so individual, so selfish as emotions hadn't been so much disallowed as ignored and so he'd given them up quickly while being there which made them awkward, and usually ill-fitted.

Today, two of them were at war within him: concern and the ever-present-since-a-certain-bookshop-incident glee. The concern was for Ino, of course, but he'd held off on visiting her out of a respect for her need for rest and really, a lack of knowledge of what to do. It didn't sit well with his general good mood and as such, led to a rather unique specials board today.

Specials crammed the board.

...pretty much you ask, and it's a special.

The Cafe Fina is open (and uncomfortably over-productive) today.

It was cloudy today, but certainly warm enough for Fiyero. Living in a cool, damp castle for the majority of his life made him think that anything even five degrees colder than this was still perfectly reasonable beach weather.

That would be the reason why Fiyero is sitting shirtless on the end of the dock, dipping his tattooed feet into the cool water and tapping a pencil against the middle of his chin. Sitting in his lap is a list:

To do.
-Try out for play. (Owe this much to Geoffrey for current lodgings.)
-Acquire a job ---> Book Haven? (Working with Liir might be very odd.)
-Finish reading up on the 'Town' ---> Questions to Liir Geoffrey.

He'd meant to write a few more things down, but when he puts the pencil to the paper once more it's to start a rather shaky sketch of the water.

Couldn't believe it. Eight months, she'd been opening this joint. She was gonna miss it.

"You gonna miss me?" Faith asked Tino. She stuck out her cleavage. "I mean, you're gonna miss these, right? You can say it."

Tino didn't answer.

Caritas was open. For Faith's last shift.

(OOC: We're gonna call this Faith's goodbye post, so if you've got anything to say, stop in and have a drink!)

So, he'd promised ice cream and he was going to deliver ice cream. Hannibal was also thankful to the island for growing and giving them this nice boardwalk to walk on. He'd been on these before, during times on the coast, so it was just nice to have one again.

Not that he was going to get mushy and call it a reminder of home or anything. That kind of thinking was for girls.

Now, he was holding two cups of ice cream. "Chocolate or...chocolate?"

[Here for Aliiiiiiiiice but the boardwalk is public so open!]

Naomi arrived on time for her shift. Once everything was set up and she had opened the store, she settled down to do some reading while she waited for anyone who might have needed her help.

Stark Industries is open.
