Coming in to work after class, Chad was actually somewhat busy behind the counter, poking at important managerial sorts of things. Sort of. There wasn't a whole lot to it, and Chad had a habit of just drifting off into daydreams about kittens or caught up in some awesome bass rift on a song, but...slow and steady wins the race, right?

Right.

It was yet another quiet morning for Ender when he arrived to open up Stark Industries. He had his laptop on him, and a book or two that had lost their kitten status a few days ago.

He settled in at a desk in the shop (and was it even a shop?), quietly mulling over what little, sketchy information he could wrangle from the books.

So far, nothing he could use.

Luke's Diner, September 15 (Monday)

It was only partly cloudy out today, but Lacey couldn't shake an odd sense of melancholy. And really, she had no idea why -- she'd had a good weekend, and a very nicely redecorated apartment, and no stupid prank calls from Hank, so why was she mopey?

She had no clue. She was actually sorry she hadn't gotten stupid prank calls from Hank. This was in and of itself highly disturbing.

To compensate, she'd decorated the cake in the display case today with riotous colors and swirls within an inch of its life.

Alex opened up the Magic Box on time, making sure every thing was neat and clean. Go her! Armed with a couple of magazines she'd gotten off of the Wizard Web, Alex settled behind the counter to read them.

If anyone needed her, they could interrupt.

Sean was busy in his office today, having a scary number of calls to make and an equally scary amount of paperwork to do. This probably explained why a sound like a head hitting a wall could periodically be heard out in the store.

The office door was open, though, so he was still in a good mood and could be approached.

Good thing, really. He was scary in a bad mood.

Now that the most acute paperwork had been dealt with, Cable finally found the time and space to start planning a few more long-term projects. For the moment, he was dividing his attention between working on his computer and reading the papers.

Mayor or not, world events were still kind of a dealbreaker.

Going into the back of the bar to restock a few things, Arashi inadvertently started a box avalanche and was now stuck there cleaning it up.

So it was Tino at the bar tonight taking orders.

[Computer is on the fritz. So working on getting it to be not so... fritzy so I can be on later this week without resorting to using the laptop.]

Seregil got everything opened and arranged then settled in behind the counter with a copy of the script from the play, hoping to have as much memorized as he could by practice the next day.

The Perk; Early Monday Evening.

The submissions for the exhibit had all been made and Charlotte had, of course, promptly put together all sorts of lists and diagrams for ideas on how to organize the show for the opening on Wednesday. It was very exciting because there were so many entries that really took her by pleasant surprise and she realized that she'd already grown to love quite a few of them. All the excitement, however, was not enough alone to keep her going full speed as she'd preferred, so she figured she'd take her work with her down to the Perk and enjoy a nice little jolt of caffeine, sipping on a latte at a table near the window as she typed and jotted, deleted and erased, only to type and jot again.

The Arms Hotel - Monday

It was Liz's first proper shift at the Arms Hotel after being handwavily shown around last week. She arrived slightly earlier than when she was meant to start and she went about setting up and double checking that she was familiar with how everything went.
