Jen knew it was new student day, but while the hangover was finally gone she was still in a bit of a prickly mood because of it and decided to just go to work, rather than check out the picnic. With all that free food at the picnic, it'd probably be quieter here today anyway.

It vaguely registered on Viki that there were new people coming in and perhaps she ought to go down and see them. But there was the fact that she had her job, and she didn’t really mind the fact that she had her job.

Perhaps she’d cut out a bit early to catch the end of it? She mulled over that, for a few minutes, and decided that, yes, if she felt like it then that was the plan.

Hurley opened the store today, knowing full well he was missing the big picnic for the new students.

But he wasn't going to ask Chad to cover his shift just because he wanted to meet new people. That wouldn't be cool.

Rusty had caught wind of the fact that there were a bunch of new folks moving to the island this weekend. He made sure all of his empty apartments were cleaned and ready for renting.

Now's he got a soda, some snacks and is hanging out in case anyone is in need of a place to live.
