Katchoo really only had one criterion in mind to keep today from sucking massively: no repeat of last Thursday. She suspected she might be fairly safe in that regard.

Still, she was going to be spending large chunks of today leaning against the wall just outside the store's front door with her good pals tobacco and Bic. It might not act like a people-repellent quite as well as she wished it would at times, but maybe it'd be a crappy-day-repeat repellent.

It wasn't that she needed the justification for her overindulgence in vice. It was just an excuse to keep brooding about it.

Eve had a headache that just wasn't going away. Not a migraine, just one of those really annoying headaches that stuck with you for a week. But still, it was preferable to last week and the constant jumping her boyfriend. She'd take it.

She'd be swilling coffee like it was going out of style, but she'd take it.

She might even manage to be cheerful.

Between the nice temperatures, and the fact that she was in a plain good mood, Maron was all but dancing as she carefully went through the aisles. Checking the stock was sort of boring, but at the same time, it was something that she needed to learn—and how else would she know what they were running out of if she didn’t look.

During her breaks from shelf-stalking (-dancing?) Maron was idly contemplating deer. Teal deer.

Priestly decided to try his hand at keeping the kitchen staff off his back by only talking to them in Shakespearean dialect.

This lasted all of five minutes until the cook called him a "rogue and peasant" and the dishwasher declared Priestly was a "one-trunk-inheriting slave". It was the busboy calling him an "unnecessary letter" that got him kind of sulking behind the counter, though.

"Observe him," yelled the cook. "For the love of mockery!"

It was going to be a long day.

With the weather being nice, Zayne felt that an ice cream date would work pretty well. Places with menus that weren't just displayed on a big board on the wall were probably too serious for a date like this. Plus, the Force had provided warm weather, so how could they resist the lure of frozen dairy products?
