Headphones in and music cranking, Katchoo had her easel set up in the middle of the shop's checkout area and was just messing around today, trying a few odd things with the brushes and paints as they occurred to her, just to see how they would work.

It had her in . . . a fairly good mood, actually, although she was highly distracted.

[OOC: Per availability notice, possibility of Extreme SP until evening is high. D: 737 coming out of the sky, oh, won't you take me down to Memphis on an OCD-free ride?]

Shilo wasn't one hundred percent certain, but she was fairly sure as she swept up the Gallery that she was one of the few people who was sad to see finals happen. She was getting comfortable with the routine of going to classes, and to switch now seemed rather disconcerting.

She set up with her laptop and began idly doodling in her notebook that she hadn't needed, seeing as there were no notes to really go over for her last two classes, but she was so used to carrying it down here at this point that it'd gone in her bag without a second thought. "I wonder if Arthur and I are going to catch hell from Edna," she said aloud.

The York Gallery is open.

Gwynn could be found riding around on Smudge. She had done all of the chores and has made sure all of the horses were taken care of, but now she was having too many deep thoughts and she knew that working with Smudge and his spirited behavior would help her work things out in her mind.

Or else tire her out so much that she wouldn't have the energy to think about them too much.

The Gig is open. Gwynn is around here somewhere with Smudge. You can find her if you need her.

This morning, Haley had opened shop to find a surprise; it really wasn't anything special or even anything nice. Instead, the air conditioning in the shop had decided to stop working for some odd reason.

Shrugging off the slight heat in the morning, she had to open up the doors around noon for some air circulation as the heat and humidity seemed to be ten times worse then she originally thought it could be. In fact, she actually decided to avoid the heat inside for a few moments by working just outside the shop to put a small wooden ramp together for her new window display.

The ramp looked pretty easy to put together and she sort of knew her way around with nails and a hammer. So, with a bottle of water and Jethro Tull's "Locomotive Breath" playing loudly over the store's stereo system, Haley was feeling optimistic.

After all, if Ian Anderson could incorporate the flute into good ol' rock n' roll, she could definitely put a small skate ramp together, right?

Ino spent the requisite time investigating her plants to see if they were all healthy and flourishing (they were), checking that the store was clean (it was clean enough) before curling up in Cable-san's chair and closing her eyes.

It just felt like a day to meditate, you know? The radio was on in the background.

Valentine's 'reward' for having passed Gunther's weekly vocabulary and grammar test almost made her want to start giving off the impression that she was actually a complete linguistic imbecile from here on it. Her flawless score gave her the 'privilege' of helping out in the kitchens today to prepare the daily special...or, more specifically, to prepare the fish for the daily special, leaving Valentine feeling and smelling like she'd spent the morning rolling around in a fish market.

She was seriously contemplating swiping up one of the keys to an empty room just so she could shower, because it was probably expected that the chef should smell of food, but Valentine hardly thought Miss Connell would appreciate that her deskie did, too.

And at least there was a slight hint of cilantro that seemed to make it not so bad.

Laundry was being done at the gym today.

Laundry was done at the gym every day, but today there was a mound of towels behind the counter rising to Tyler's waist. "What the hell?" he asked the aerobics instructor.

Leotard chick popped her gum, shrugged, and told him she was glad she wasn't the one who had to fold them. Tee hee. Then she wandered off to lead a Jazzercise group.

Tee fucking hee. Tyler got to work folding, grateful he was back to teaching in two weeks.

The gym was open.

Hinata had been kicked out of class.

Hinata. Had been. Kicked out of class. And wasn’t sorry for it, even though she was rather in shock at what had happened.

How, exactly, she’d wandered down to the park, Hinata wasn’t sure. But shock was why she was sitting on one of the benches, the flush slowly fading, but looking rather shell-shocked as she tried to deal with the fact that a) she’d stood up for her opinion, b) she’d been sent out of class for it and c) didn’t feel bad about it.

[Ooopen as a park is!]

Irulan was having a nice day. She went around her shop humming while she inspected her hats. In one or two instances Irulan moved a display around until it met her satisfaction.

Her paperwork was done. It was a good day.

Tony's party had been very nice and Claire was still in a pleasant mood when she got to work and opened the comic shop.

This week's task was to pull old issues from the shelves to make room for the new ones. Every now and again, Claire stopped to flip through the pages of something that caught her attention.

The last few days had been quiet for Joan and she was kind of enjoying it. Though a tiny part of her kept expecting the other shoe to drop.

For now, though, she was content to spend her work shift watering flowers.

It was Amber's last day of work and as she'd promised Turtle, she was buffing the floors with a big assed industrial buffer that was pulling her the crap everywhere.

Whatever. She was going to get the marks from her tap shoes out if it killed her. Just, you know, get out of her freaking way.

Alex had enough information to e-mail a status update to Liz. And then, Liz could pass the information to her other ADAs, who could go into court and argue the motions, but not as well as Alex would have, and the motions would be denied and all of this would be wasted effort.

Okay, some of Liz's ADAs were probably competent, but none of them had her closure rate, dammit. She should be in New York herself. She could get a dark wig and change her name. Olivia could be her personal bodyguard, once the Colombians figured out who she was. Olivia wouldn't mind.

Don't mind Alex -- she's just In A Mood.

Groovy Tunes, Wednesday

Alice was in a pensive sort of mood today, as she picked out music idly. She'd been in Fandom for a year; by this time next year, she'd be shown the door. To go ... where? She had no home, except what she had found here.

The future seemed less intimidating when it lingered further back.

Penelope was casually leaning against the counter, sipping a Shirley Temple. She was listening to the band who were all sporting cowboy hats and wearing sunglasses. It was odd but then what about the band wasn't?

Millie bustled about the store cheerfully, straightening things and making sure everything was in order. Then she settled down with another of the new books that had come in while she waited for any customers.

Peyton was a little distracted at work today. She was waiting to hear back on the last two songs for the CD - some legal issues that Ellie was sure they could take care of. And once those were clear the CD could go into production.

Groovy Tunes was being cleaned to within an inch of its life as Peyton waited.
