Chrysanthemums, daffodils, tiger lilies... Dinah was working on the autumn displays, and checking the seed catalog for more ideas. Hmm. Where did that watering can go? She could've sworn it was right here....

Quiet chortling as little blue feet skedaddled with a watering can or two went unnoticed while Dinah went back into storage to get another one.

The very first thing Ino did when she got to work was listen to radio. And then breathe a sigh of relief.

That done, she flung herself into her usual early-morning-at-work routine of fussing with the flowers and cleaning. What? Technically the store wasn’t even open as early as she got there. She could take her time.

Opening at the proper time, Ino curled up in Cable-san’s chair and pulled out a notebook. There was always studying to do, after all. And she’d be running enough during second period, no doubt.

Luke's Diner; Wednesday [ 09/16 ].

Here it was. Back in the old haunt. Cal was pleased to find that not much at all had changed about good old Luke's, right down to the guys in the kitchen heckling him (over his hair, for the most part) and the occasional squirrel trying to sneak in. It felt good to be back, and he still found a nice stock of Faygo still hanging around, meaning he was pretty much set for the rest of the day.

And since it was his first day back, he figured that the specials board would have to boast the things that he felt really rounded out his diner culinary experience.

When Valentine came into the hotel for work today, she didn't put up any pretense. She didn't try to avoid the inevitable or think up any excuses. She just went right ahead and helped Gunther out, swiftly and peacefully, so that there wouldn't be any contention when, once it was over and taken care of, she could settle behind her desk and work quietly.

Demosthenes had an article due tomorrow, after all.

The goddess herself was reading a book at the counter, glasses firmly planted on her nose.

The flyer she'd been working on for days was finally finished and hanging in the window. ( It said )

When she'd read it over the phone to Cupid, his only comment was, "And you say I spent too much time in the seventies?"

The Perk, Wednesday Afternoon

Jack found himself a bit at loose ends this Wednesday, with his last class of the week over and done. He made a quick call to Emma and went to the Perk. They had good tea, and he was curious how her audition had gone.

He got a cup of Earl Grey and a (soggy) egg salad sandwich and found a seat near the window. A paperback was open on the table in front of him, but he was watching people far more than he was reading.
