Lacey, whenever she wasn't serving customers or wheedling the staff into doing something, was behind the counter staring contemplatively at a square-ruled notepad, tapping a pencil against her lips and squinting.

And, sometimes, writing something down after much deliberation. The staff thought she was reworking the cafe's budget, or menu, or their job duties, and were nervous and speculative all day.

What Lacey was actually doing was planning out which Farmville crops she needed mastery on, and in which order.

. . . oh, and designing a new floorplan for her CafeTown restaurant, because owning one diner and running another in real life wasn't enough, apparently.

Luke's is open -- stupid evil insidious Facebook.

Mirax had pretty much no motivation today. She'd be happy if this could be like Sunday part two, or maybe if she could just go back to vacation for another week.

She had her eye on the door in case anyone came in and she had to jump up and look busy, but otherwise, meh.

After a week of vacation, it was time to return to work - not that it had really changed much for Ender, who had taken advantage of late-night hours to keep up his research back in the Catskills. It wasn't as if his life in Fandom could get any slower or lazier as it stood.

Still, he and Ben had possible plans for the week, which might also warrant some research, so Ender's attention kept darting between his work for Stark, his research (and other related activities, since Val had given him access to some of her contacts, although he wasn't so stupid as to believe she'd given him all of them) and thoughts paid to what he knew of Ben's home universe.

There was a lot of stuff in the tack room that really needed to be cleaned today, and Dani was planning on sitting down and tackling it. But first, Duke probably needed some exercise. They needed to go for a really long ride through the wooded unexplored area.

The Gig was open, and Dani would come back from her ride if anyone wanted her for something other than cleaning.

[OCD-free for great Monday morning justice.]

Alex opened up the Magic Box on time, in need of some serious caffeine.

She made sure things were set up properly and cleaned up the displays that needed it. Alex settled behind the counter with a magazine.

The Magic Box is open.

It was a sullen goddess of love that opened the shop this afternoon.

She'd spent most of last week being pummeled with various items, most of which came from her stock, and while the store was still standing and restored to its normal look, the stock had yet to be replaced. She'd sent the orders in, but the actual merchandise wouldn't arrive until Wednesday. Hopefully there wouldn't be a run on condoms until then.

The most embarrassing thing about the week was getting hit with her own potion and thinking for several moments that she was in love with Jack. That wasn't supposed to happen. It never had before, and this coming on top of the recent conversation about her powers was a blow to her ego. She'd avoided the store on Friday and Saturday, then showed up on Sunday simply to turn the sign around and hang out. But the blinds had stayed down, the lights stayed off, and she might have forgotten to unlock the door.

Today was marginally better. The sign was turned, the blinds were most of the way up, and there was a sign hanging in the unlocked door:

welcome back teachers and students
25% off everything, this week only

She hadn't even noticed the lack of exclamation points.

Decadent Delights is open. The goddess is in, but just barely.

It had been over a week since Kate had had a decent cup of hot chocolate. This had to be remedied first thing in the morning, so she headed to the Perk for breakfast before religion class.

She smirked at the waitstaff as she made her order, and they looked at her like they thought she’d hit her head. That made her chuckle; it was familiar and vaguely comforting, in a weird way. Vacationing was awesome, but it was pretty good to be home, too.

...And now Kate would spend her morning at a good people-watching table, sipping hot chocolate, eating a ridiculous pastry, and boggling over the fact that she just thought of Fandom as home.

[ooc: So very open! Entertain me as I try to work on boring school stuff.]

Hannibal's legs felt a little like Jell-O but that wasn't going to stop him from getting some bowling practice in. Sure, he didn't know when this match was gonna go down but he was damn sure not wanting to wear a leotard. Hell no. He'd sooner run away and join the circus.

Of course, once he got on the lane and started his game with two consecutive gutter balls, he wondered if joining the circus would be less painful. Whatever. He was warming up, he had all night, he could bowl until his thumb fell off.

Three frames later, he only had seven pins and he'd started cursing at the pins and the lanes and his shoes and the bowling ball. God, he was going to end up dancing in spandex at this rate.

Stupid game.

[i couldn't resist. fast eddie's is open and you're free to stumble upon hannibal if'n you want!]

When Tino arrived today, he found that Adrian had made it to work before he did.

"Don't look so shocked, I ran out at home," Adrian explained, holding up his drink in a toast.

Tino looked disappointed but at least he hadn't had to get the drink for him.

Today, at his work, Spock engrossed himself in his studies of the scientific developments of this period, so that he would have a better idea of what to expect--though some of the technology on display in Stark's labs did not seem to fit with what he was finding in historical resources. It was a fascinating conundrum, and one that would require further study.

While he was working on his research, he made the mistake of leaving his communication device unattended, meaning it was entirely possible Stark Industires would be announcing a sudden leap forward in cell phone technology in the near future. In the meantime, however, the aforementioned company was open for business.
