Dinah was considering, as she did every so often, to lure Miss Vida in to talk quitting the flower shop. Not today, though; today it was nice to have someplace quiet and pretty to be. She was also considering her next care package for Reno, setting aside seeds that might work well in Midgar. And leaving a note for the other note-person: I miss the little pine trees. Also, all the singing things. And the crazy mistletoe poinsettas. The tiger lilies are staring at me and the roses are smug.

The downside to being back at work after two weeks was that Katchoo really didn't want to be here. Of course, that went for most of the rest of the time too, so what that said might not count for much.

At least she was making herself feel slightly better about that -- and other things -- by making an unrepentant mess of the floor in the area where she'd set up her easel, flinging, splashing, slapping, and jabbing paint onto the canvas. If there was a non-sedate way to get the paint on there and several other places in the process, she was going to use it.

It was therapeutic. Shut up.

[OOC: Pfft, OCD. Store's open and messy, usual daytime-SP disclaimer applies, offer not valid in select dimensional pockets of reality.]

Ino was at work! And done her classes for the week, which was a bit weird, so she was (with the exception of around mid-morning when she popped out for coffee and wound up throwing snowballs at Jak) actually curled up at her desk and studying her scrolls.

She was aiming for a productive day--even if that day had not that much to do with weapons that could be sold. Ino did make a mental note to practice her shooting on the range more often.

So many things she had to keep in mind, hm...

MCA Lobby, [1/6]

Mina was behind the desk in the lobby again, ready to attend to any tenants or potential tenants.

Or anyone, really.

She was debating about putting up a suggestion box, for events that could be held to encourage mingling between the residents. It seemed like a good idea, encouraging a community bond. Just in case they needed to unite against a common foe or something similar.

However, that would require getting up and getting a box.

Right now, Mina was too busy playing on Facebook. Somewhere, Allan Quatermaine was shaking his head in disappointment, and he didn't know why.

Okay. Jason wasn't exactly sure just how he ended up with a job, but that wasn't the point here. The point was that he was now a working man and Gran could stop sending him money. He figured he'd tell her about his job sometime in the near future, 'cause the money she sent was kind of necessary. Sure it was.

As work went, anyone could accuse Jason Stackhouse of being a lazy ass and in his own mind (if he gave it any amount of thought) he just might agree. His first day on the job demanded that he check things out. See what kind of stuff the store sold. But when he encountered the Squishy robot machine thing, he kind of just decided he would try and figure it out.

This could possibly take all day.

Turtle & Canary is open!

Azula crossed her arms, its been a while since she was here and she found that she had grown… fond of this place, if only because she wasn't confined to four walls.

There was a basin filled to the brim with sand, Azula pushed the basin on to one of the boulders then placed a hand above the sand with little effort Azula heated up the sand. She nodded to herself, perfect.

(For the blond canary! But beach open!)

It was a cheerful Layla who opened up the store today. Sure it was chilly outside, but inside Layla had hot coffee, her laptop and a store full of used goods to sell.

How could it get better than that?

Had it only been three days since his last mission? Because Jak was already feeling like jumping out of his skin again. In the end, he'd had to snag his Morph Gun out from the weapons locker and head out. If nothing else, it might be fun trying out the JET-board on the snow.

As it turned out, it was; the board hummed loudly under his feet, propelling him over a hill, then down a slope. He made a flip in the air, went for a 360 and grinded along a park bench.

It was more than a little pointless, but it was something to do.

Morgan was beat. Another flight, another mission, another set of dead ends. Hotch was looking worse and worse, the kid being in fricking crutches had everyone feeling helpless and twitchy, and he was starting to wonder if he shouldn't give up this place and just move back to Virginia.

But a house was a house. And the drive really wasn't that bad. And maybe, staying away was better. It gave him a breather from the stress.

The first workday of the new year for Imperial Brim found Jack in good spirits, and also found him checking the inventory of the shop, just to keep busy.

Shelley stumbled out of the portal, completely confused, and still holding the red patent leather pump she had been examining in Nordstrom.  It was gorgeous, though slightly understated, so totally not her style.  Plus, the other one was still back at the mall she had been hanging out in and not here in this strange place she had never seen before.

"The hell," she said, looking around in disbelief.  "It's like I've been drugged, but I haven't had a mango slushy in like week."  There was a story there, but she didn't feel the need to tell it to herself, because that would be silly.

"Oh, my god!" she exclaimed, finally taking in the scene in front of her.  The town had the looks of a European tourist trap, which totally meant, "Cute boutiques!"

Pump in hand, she set off for Fandom.

[ooc: Shelley has arrived in Fandom.  Straight up ballin', yo. Please feel free to meet and greet!]

Atlas Gym - Wednesday

Beka was in a good mood when she got to the gym that morning. She'd been to New York (and caught a pick pocket), she'd spoken to Jonothon and her classes had been interesting. So far, the new semester had been going well enough.

She made certain everything was in order afore she retrieved her baton which she'd brought with her from the dorms. It wasn't a sword or some complicated martial arts, but it was the weapon of a Dog and she needed to practise.

[OCD-free, I'm too lazy.]

Alex was still riding the high of class yesterday. She'd missed talking about justice and the legal system and all of the gray areas that came along with it.

And now, she was sitting in her office, hoping someone might have a case for her. She wasn't going to hold her breath, though.

And, since the semester was new, she added a small sign which read, Now Hiring.

Today needed something chilly to match the weather, so Alice was going to re-use her Antarctica mix. They were hardly in Antarctica, but snow was snow, wasn't it?

For the new term, she hung the familiar sign in the window:

GROOVY TUNES IS NOW HIRING
WOULD YOU NOT ENJOY WORKING HERE?
I ASSURE YOU, MOST OF US DO

Marshall was a wee bit late to work today. He blamed the Travel Channel. Stupid Bizarre Foods show and it's addictiveness.

Under cover of darkness, a blue, fuzzy figure appeared and disappeared all over the island.

Kurt was exploring the island in the way only he could -- teleporting from place to place and rooftop to rooftop, taking in all the sights. Occasionally he'd 'port to the side of a building and peer in the windows, to check out the merchandise. It felt good to be out and about. AND he was stretching his tail and wiggling it around, trying to get the kinks out while he could. He'd started to get cramps from keeping it hidden under his shirt 24-7.

Naomi was on time for her shift, making sure that everything was set up and organized before she opened.

Stark Industries is open.
