God Con: All Day Saturday

The wait staff had put together a nice continental breakfast for all the convention visitors and later this would be turned into a rather nice buffet style lunch.

But the real "meat and potatoes" of the day were the seminars and Chris was doing his best to make sure everything was in order.

Cabot & Associates, Saturday

Roy arrived for a busy day of work at Cabot & Associates, where he set himself up behind the computer to work on legal whatsitry in between, you know, checking his e-mail and playing spider solitaire.

A model employee, he was, indeed. The law office was open for business.

Atlas Gym, Saturday 5/15

Fred showed up for work today, and was confused by the box of donuts that was awaiting him with a note.

Why do you bow to the whims of insects when you were destined to be something far greater? read the note.

If anyone stopped in Atlas today, there was a grumpy Fred Dukes punching the hell out of a heavy bag. There were also free donuts, if you wanted to take them from a box that had been hurled against a wall.

Jaina could name one time in her history that she'd been this happy to get back to work: right after Ebaq 9 when she'd been trapped on the moon for a week while they waited for extraction. That had taken longer than the nearly four days she'd spent in her room, but working at Caritas was admittedly more fun than strategy and running people through drills, so it balanced out.

So there was a Jaina behind the bar, looking extremely relieved to be here, and hoping people showed tonight. She didn't so much like being that deprived of contact with people these days. Yeah, it surprised her, too.

The seminar setting had been pulled down for the evening and replaced with elegant table settings fit for a king.

Or Gods as it were.

The bar was fully stocked and the menu was plentiful and moddable and featured many foods distinctive to various cultures and religions.

And finally one of the wait staff thought he funny and had labeled the apples as being "Forbidden Fruit".

Imperial Junke Yard, Saturday

Marcus had taken one look at what was going on in the hotel this weekend and decided somewhere else would be a good place to be.

So, the junkyard. Not that a casual observer would know he was there. He was adding a cache or two of weapons to various spots, and they wouldn't be much good if someone could find them easily.

He was listening carefully, though, in case someone showed up.

Raven was torn between investigating this "GodCon" and confronting her father, or just hiding in her room and hoping he wouldn't come looking for her there. She didn't want to be a coward, but she didn't want to do anything foolish, either. Now night was beginning to fall, and she was still loathe to be outside alone when it was dark. She had to make a decision soon.
