Like most of her shifts at the bookstore, Hinata was fairly certain that today would be a quiet day.

Which was, quite honestly, perfectly suited to her mood—which was a bit off and a bit quieter than normal as she allowed Yei full run of the store and very deliberately stayed out of the romance novels.

They were full of things she was not inclined to give more thought to. Truly.

Ino was in a Bad Mood.

Why?

Because it hadn’t taken much for her to figure out that she was feeling—antsier than normal—that was totally a word in her opinion, shut up—and some careful dropping of her shields proved nearly everyone was feeling that way.

Which meant they were likely being manipulated.

And that pissed Ino off as her—feelings—were her own damn business and her own damn choice and anything that wanted to make her mind up or influence her otherwise?

Could go die in a fire.

Fuck this shit, Loki wasn't even going to come out of his apartment today if he could help it. Instead, he'd set up a bell at the front desk that people could ring if they really fucking needed him. Loki hoped no one needed him because he planned on staying in and watching television all day fucking day until this feeling went away.

He fucking hated being an angel on this island sometimes.

Jonothon didn't breathe. Jono didn't have little things like 'internal organs,' and so you would think that he would be immune to little things like hormone-pollen, as a result. And, in the most technical sense, you would be absolutely right.

Jonothon was also a being made of almost pure psionic energy, surrounded by people, not only teenagers, who were almost all feeling the effects of that pollen, and who tended to project their emotional states, sometimes loudly and very urgently.

Jonothon hated everything, ever, and was sitting behind the counter with narrowed pure-white eyes, a kitten in his lap, and very angry music playing very loudly.

The Groovy Tunes is open, and decidedly uncomfortable today, curse you all.

Ariel wasn't spending a whole lot of time behind the counter today; if she was there, she leaned on the counter with her chin in her palm, sighing a lot and daydreaming. She felt like spending much more time in front of a mirror, picking out cute little sexy dresses and imagining how her boyfriend would respond to each one.

"Why, Bruce, run away with you? This is all so..so sudden..."

With the breadth of her imagination and the wide variety of cute sexy dresses, she was going to be at this for a while.

Shunsui was a man who had been running on perverted thoughts and the pursuit of beautiful woman for nearly two centuries now, so there wasn't much he was feeling differently except perhaps an actual inspiration to seal the deal rather than just flirt and steal kisses. Of course, he was at the shop right now, and the only one in a close proximity to him was Apu-san, and Shunsui was not even remotely attracted to Apu-san unless he was a girl.

So Shunsui found himself channeling his energies into something else, something actually somewhat productive.

Well, debatable productive.

"It's the much-anticipated sequel to my best-selling," and by best-selling, Shunsui meant worst-selling, "book, The Rose Coloured Path ♥," he explained to Apu-san, even though Apu-san had not asked nor did he care. "A sweeping epic of love, beautiful women, and sexy times ♥. I'll let you read it when the first draft is finished, Apu-san ♥."

Apu-san decided to go into another part of the store, figuring that even trying to keep the overamourous cheese panda from violating any customers was still preferable to listening to Shunsui.

With the island in such an amorous mood, the last place Raven wanted to be was at 'Dite's. But she was never one to blow off her duties, so she reported to work on time and settled behind the counter with a book, trying to distract herself from her own amorous thoughts. Maybe it would be a quiet day as usual.

Spock hoped he was not going into Pon Farr did not want to talk about it. He just wanted to sit here and mess around with electronics, thank you very much. And that was exactly what he could be found doing.

Mary was starting to suspect that there was something in the water, because she couldn't come up with any other explanation for the surprising number of couples showing up who desperately needed to get a room. Even Gunther seemed to be affected. After dumping his menu specials on the front desk, he disappeared with one of the maids.

And as much as Mary wanted to deny it, she was affected too. She was desperately trying to shut out everything around her and focus on harvesting her asparagus in Farmville.

Much though Robin wanted to be other places, definitely doing other things, she figured that going into work might fix the whole pent-up energy issue. So Tuesday night found her doing something unusual -- manual labor. She was rearranging the back of the house, moving kegs, crates, and boxes.

It wasn't helping much, really, but at least she didn't have to see Tino's pervy little smile.
