When Cally arrived at the shop today, she found a single, rather large cupcake on the counter, beside an artistic cake-decorating kit. Both the cake and the frosting were green.

She scowled a bit as she looked around the shop, but there were no signs of any gremlins.

"Don't think this makes us even for shooting my hair," she grumbled. Though a mouthful of frosting. It really was rather tasty.

Strokes of Genius was open and less grudgey than it was pretending to be.

How much could really happen in a few weeks, anyway, especially when one of those weeks involved the majority of the busy people on the island being off somewhere on a wonderful vacation? Shunsui hadn't figured there'd be much to tend to at the store in his absence, and was hoping to get in some really good naps at the counter, but Apu-san seemed to have different ideas.

And every time he presented Shunsui with another matter, it seemed to be timed just right to catch him before he drifted off to sleep. All of it was boring, none of it made sense, and he just sighed to Apu and said, "You're the assistant manager. Isn't this your job, Apu-san?"

Apparently, the answer was no, and, begrudgingly, he took the presented papers from Apu.

And then neatly added it to the pile of all the other ones and went back to using them as a pillow.

It was a nice, quiet day at the shop, and Tara had plenty of time to clean and organize the shelves of herbs, readymade potions, and other spell ingredients. She was feeling too lazy to track down a ladder, but that shouldn't be a problem, right?

And as soon as she finished thinking that, she managed to tip over a large jar of some kind of deep purple herbal juice blend. She ducked and wasn't hit by the jar itself, but when it hit the floor and broke and the liquid splashed up ...

Well. There went her second white shirt of the week. Tara would spend the rest of her shift hunting for gremlins.

Helen was working out all of her - whatever - by mucking out the stables in a way they'd never been mucked out before. If they hadn't been dirt, the floors would have been practically clean enough to eat off of.

Wallace was spending his shift playing Quarters. Well, actually, he was flicking quarters at Tino and taking shots whenever he felt like it.

Perhaps it was a waste of time in a good workshop, but today Sov had brought a book and was reading it while sitting behind the counter. And it didn't even have anything to do with building technology. It was a book on the animal life on Earth. It made them laugh a lot. There really existed some strange creatures on this planet! Like snakes! Or camels.
