Magic Box, Friday, 10/07

The shop was in good shape today, especially if Tara didn't count the fact the frog tongues seemed to have fermented again. That was a problem she dealt with quickly and preferred not to dwell on. Tara took advantage of the relative quiet by spending the day flipping through brochures from the colleges she was considering. She hadn't totally given up on the New York plan she'd spoken to Kennedy about, but most of them were in California. UC-Berkeley (where Tara probably couldn't get in, but she could dream), UC-Santa Cruz ... UC-Sunnydale.

That last brochure was getting the most attention. There were a lot of things she liked about it -- a smaller campus in a small town, near the beach, not that far from LA if she felt like a day trip. And of course Sunnydale had its own mystique, even though she did wonder whether people would freak if she knowingly went to college on a Hellmouth.

Well, it was probably safer than Fandom?

Princess Convention: Registration and Banquet

The convention hall was a flurry of activity as everyone made sure that everything was just right for the royal visitors coming to Fandom this weekend. One thoughtful staff member had even posted a sign outside which read "No Krakens Allowed."

The hall was decorated in nice fall colors and a large buffet had been set up for their royal highness to peruse. Or have their servants peruse.

Really there's just a lot of opportunities to peruse.

Fall Break was fast approaching and Bod had to decide if he wanted to go on the annual school trip, surprise Kate in Kansas or perhaps do something else on his own. He polled the cooking staff who were split on the vote which wasn't helpful at all. They all had good reasons for choosing what they did but he'd wanted a definitive decision without making it on his own and he probably wasn't going to get that. But, he thanked them anyway before heading out to start getting the diner ready for business.

With the fall break- including that trip he'd heard so much about- on the horizon, Toby was exceedingly cheerful as he opened up the restaurant today. It helped that the droids hadn't yet decided on a special, meaning he could totally declare it his decision for today.

Mary was scrambling to keep up with the demands of the princesses checking into the hotel. For every princess she sent upstairs, there were three calls to the front desk complaining about the accommodations. It's too bad that Mary didn't know about Gunther bribing the housekeeping staff to make those calls from unoccupied rooms.

The Park, Friday Evening, iCarly Broadcast!

The AV cart was all hooked up, props and green screens were in place, and iCarly was ready to go. They even had a wacky theme for the broadcast!

"I'm still in shock over that visit," Carly said via the feed from Seattle. "And Gibby won't stop Zaplooking for Hakota Dakota. What's up with that?"

"...It's Gibby. You're better off asking him," Freddie said.

"I would, but he's not even here today. He's on some sort of brotherly camping outing with Guppy," Carly said.

"Awww, how is the little guy?" Freddie asked.

"He's... Guppy," Carly said.

"How incredibly informative!" Freddie said.

Eric had caught wind that not only was there a convention in town, it was a convention of princesses, so naturally he made sure the club was open.
