Annie walked into an Issue today, wherein they were receiving a mystery shipment that... didn't appear to exist. As in, the guy came to deliver the stuff and there was nothing in the boxes.

It all made sense when the delivery guy explained that he was delivering a shipment of Sprite Zero, which of course, did not exist.

It was Surreal's first day of work. Well, that wasn't completely accurate; she'd had a job before, but this was her first day working in a shop.

The first thing she was going to do was pull out the giant ladder, and go poke through the things Tara had mentioned were kept up high. She wanted to get a good idea of what sort of inventory the store had, and she learned best by getting her hands on things, not by reading a list.

The Magic Box was open, and the witch is in!

Jane let the music play for a few more seconds before she switched it off. "What, you don't like it? And here I thought all humans liked inane pop music."

Ender rubbed his forehead, then cast a glance towards the shop. "Howard is a much quieter taskmaster than Tony ever was," he said, "And I'd like to keep the place that way."

Which was naturally when the sound systems of the shop kicked in, and Ender was forced to get up and switch all of them off manually before he got fired for disturbing Howard's midday tweaking session. Or whatever else the man got up to when Ender didn't see him.

Vincent was feeling an Italian vibe, today -- complete with a crown of oak leaves.

Yeah, he knew that was an Ancient Roman thing, not a modern Italian thing. He just liked to accessorize.

So, last night's romantic musical cartoon about unicorns was not the light-hearted affair she'd been hoping for. Umm, at all. The romance didn't even get a happy ending. So, Karla was spending her shift trying to find another movie that she could watch instead. So far, she'd found one about bunnies that looked promising (because what could go wrong with bunnies on an adventure?), and another that sounded like a heartwarming tale about a man and his pet mouse.

The search was taking longer than it should, however. Maybe it was because she was on the work computer, but most of the results that came back were most definitely NOT what she was looking for.

Though the store's inventory could benefit from a few, no doubt.

Caritas, Monday

It had been two days, and truth be told, Jake was still a little- no, a lot gobsmacked. Not only did he have a new job, it was as the friggin' sheriff.

Although there was no chance in hell he was giving up his Caritas shift just because he was suddenly some sort of authority figure (he could Malachy's hysterical laughter at the idea already, and he hadn't even told his father) now. Really, the way he saw it, running the Trooper Station would probably give him even more reason to drink, so it was best for all involved.

Of course, there was the small matter of heading back to St. John's to tell the RNC to shove their task force where the sun doesn't shine, but that was for tomorrow.
