Now, this was the sort of place where Samus could feel at home. Much more so than any place that sold decorative and scented animal-shaped soaps and sensible underwear, at any rate. She was already getting to work on a new project, deftly managing her work one-handed while conducting business via her helmet's comm link.

"Yes, I'll need you to send me a couple of crates....Yes, I know...I know. Listen, when I say that the technology on this planet is abysmal, that's not hyperbole. When have you ever known me to exaggerate? ....no, that was being kind. I need them before next week, can you do that for me?"

A little bit of spark flew when she turned some attention to sodering something into place with the gun and, yeah, this was definitely much more like it.

Britta Perry was having a very difficult time right now.

"No, Apu, you can't look up at the camera when I take the picture," she tried explaining again, "and you definitely can't smile. This isn't a picture about you, it's a picture about the essence of the sadness and loneliness inherent in the struggle of the American immigrant working man! It's about the mediocrity and meaningless of a life that reduces you to just sweeping up the dust off the shoes of people stomping all over everything you've done! So just hold the broom still and look down and sad while the light streams through the storefront window."

"But, Miss Perry, I do not want to be in your picture; I only want to finish sweeping this floor because it was your boots that tromped through all this powdered sugar when you tried to make a photograph that looked like a cocaine drug bust as a symbol of the war on drugs being the same as the socio-economic war fought in our own corporate infatuated stores."

Britta narrowed her eyes at Apu for a second before sulking away. "Yeah, whatever. I'm just going to go back to trying to capture that stack of cans over there."

A very hard time indeed.
