The rest of the kitchen staff was comparing notes about how awful last week's events were, especially when it look like they would run out of food. Lion-o stayed silent. Finally, one of the cooks asked Lion-o how last week had been for him.

Lion-o averted his eyes and said, "I don't want to talk about it." And after a few moments of awkward silence, someone brought up sports and the conversation moved on.

With no detention to be in today (no, seriously, someone burn that place down please), Jaye was back at work, and using Tino as her entertainment. Not that she had to do anything to him. He was just getting really, really into the swimming races tonight, and Jaye kept making little bets with herself on when he'd give himself an aneurysm.

Was this not how you were supposed to enjoy the Olympics?

Alice wasn't sure what to make of the fact that for an entire week, she hadn't existed in Fandom. The question of whether she'd existed at all in that universe was at the back of her mind, but she refused to let it any further along in her thoughts than that. She had her work to do, thank you very much. She could dwell and angst some other time -- and she probably would. Cullens were good at that. It was damn near a skill.

For now, though, she was bustling around the shop, tidying up and unpacking a few boxes. It was a slow day, which she'd pretty much expected.

Shira was alternately worrying about Cassidy and throwing herself into her work to avoid worrying about Cassidy. It kind of varied in the space of five-minute stretches, really.

At the moment, she was paging through one of her books on healing, trying to see if there were any Craft spells she could work on Cassidy's mind to help her Queen's worries. So far, no such luck, but she was going to keep looking. And she'd found a few things that might be interesting to experiment with, but she just made note of those and kept reading.

She'd help anyone who came in, but until then? All with the reading.

Fandom Island Gazette, Special Wednesday Edition

Carl set the last stack of papers on his desk. He'd managed to con convince some local kids to carry some to various businesses already, so this stack was in case anyone came in. Sure they were late, but there was some content today!
