Victor's mother had been back for the weekend, and Victor was perfectly okay with that. Really. Okay, so maybe he was pushing himself a little harder because he realized with fresh urgency that he couldn't let her down, and maybe he'd uncharacteristically made the extra effort to find a Monday mass yesterday because he knew it would remind him of her -- but mostly he was okay.

He couldn't brood today, anyhow. The shop was ankle-deep in cranberries. Victor tried a few scientific experiments to see how high they'd bounce off different surfaces before going for the broom.

From the time that Kitty ran into the X-Men again and stupidly told them they could call her if they needed her, she'd been expecting them to do just that.

Sure enough, she got the call from Sage right before she left for work tonight.

And "right before she left for work" meant just that. Kitty'd thrown some clothes in a bag to bring with her just in case and still showed up a couple minutes late. Because really, it wasn't like she could say no. She didn't want to go, but she couldn't leave people in trouble either, so she was at the bar, looking up when she could catch a portal out tonight.

Despite her mood, your bartender would be happy to serve you. At least until she had to run off.

The Perk, Tuesday Afternoon

Gert finally had a face and therefore needed to be played today, QED wasn't really much of a coffee drinker, or a venturer around the island if she could help it. On the other hand, there were exceptions to every rule, she hated Public Speaking class and just Tuesdays in general, and she was a fan of caramel apple cider, so here she was.

With her MacBook open in front of her on a table, she scrolled through a list of museums in Baltimore for things to do later this week in lieu of slowly being bored to death in her dorm room. And she was just going to do her best to not be annoyed by the fact that the apple cider wasn't as good here as it was at the place she'd generally gone to at home, which was easy to do when she remembered that 'home' had been full of evil. Congratulations, Perk barista. You passed.

Sam was still on the island. Really, after his unexpected trip to the island yesterday, he'd just been too lazy to leave yesterday. He'd booked a hotel room and finally gotten a few hours of sleep. He'd woken up and intended to head on back to Seattle but wandered back to the island to at least eat something before he headed off.

It'd been quiet yesterday and he'd liked that. Nothing weird was happening, no invasions seemed to be occurring and he did like the sweets the various shops had. So, he bought some things for himself and then bought a few things for Brid, Ramon and Frank as a way to make up for his absence.

His portal was scheduled for an hour or so from now so he was sitting outside the pastry shop while he ate. He'd enjoy the lack of rain for a bit longer.
