Éponine's strange mood (all right, stranger than usual) from the past couple of days hadn't quite abated. If she was more focused today, it was because she was more sober, which meant that she was also noticeably moodier.

Largely, this meant that all her free time during her shifts behind the counter consisted of staring blankly into space and frowning, then snapping abruptly to attention with a muttered curse to busy herself doing something mindless and unnecessary (like straightening shelves that didn't need to be straightened) for a few frenetic minutes before she lapsed back into sullen, if pensive, silence.

While the post office was open today, the odds of getting personable service weren't terribly high.

It was Bay's first shift at the diner -- not that the guys in the kitchen seemed inclined to interrupt what looked like a very elaborate experiment with cherry tomatoes to do more than nod a greeting, let alone fuss over her. She halfway expected some kind of hazing to make up for it later, but it didn't seem to be coming.

Huh.

She wrote the specials on the sign, decorated it with a little cartoon of aliens, and settled behind the counter to wait for customers.

Specials today:
Olive cheese bread
Italian antipasto salad

It wasn't really a rare sight to see Stiles in gym clothes because he was a guy and they tended to dress in Tyler Hoechlin chic when it got hot. However, it was the rare day that he was actually exercising with them on. Running, even! Running. For fun. He wasn't doing it because Scott said he and Isaac were going to join the track team and Stiles wanted to keep up with Isaac's stupid beautiful angular angelic face. He wasn't.

And he was just gonna lay on this bench for a little while until his motivation to run kicked in. Which would happen any minute now, really.

Emma had her stock reports and gossip pages to keep herself entertained tonight, much to Tiny's relief. It meant she would be entertained enough not to torment him, thank goodness.

Devil's Nest was open, and the hostess was there, although she might think her stocks are more intersting than you.

After a rather normal class, Emily was expecting a pretty quiet day at work.

There was a difference between having a quiet day and not having work at all though. "So this is boredom, not calm," Emily muttered as she made the fiftieth paper plane. Yeul wouldn't probably know the difference, and for that Emily was a bit envious.

"C'mon, ring you stupid thing." Alas, the phone did not yield.

[ Open Office, also pretty damn late. No OCD because honestly. ]
