Caritas- Wednesday

Jaye had responded to spending the weekend as a responsible adult by just not going to work on Monday. Also, she was lazy and hadn't felt like dealing with people. So really, ditching work had been part rebellion, part laziness. Okay, mostly laziness.

But today Tino had called her in, and so she showed up, mostly for the tips. Okay, entirely for the tips. And because she could make herself a drink for free (as long as the boss didn't find out about it).

Stark Industries, Wednesday, June 19

Victor spent much of his shift today comparison-shopping online and ordering replacements for some tools that had worn out or wandered off, and slipped a couple extra high-tech replacements into the cart. Because really, what was a repair shop without a state of the art oscillating tool? IT wasn't anyplace Victor wanted to work, that was for sure.

The Causeway, Wednesday Morning

A wet hand rose up out of the depths of the ocean and clamped onto a very steep bit of land bridge. It let go a few moments later, accompanied by a loud "OW!" and the sound of someone flailing in the water.

A bedraggled Atton set foot on a slightly less steep end of the land bridge a few minutes later, covered in scrapes and seaweed. "Well," he said, casting a glance back towards the mainland, "That could've gone worse... I'm just having a hard time picturing how."

He looked back towards the island. More specifically, the school.

"Space, I hope it's Wednesday..."

The park- Wednesday evening

Kitty was one of those people who was perfectly fine getting some quiet time, especially if it was somewhere pretty. And her apartment was plenty quiet but she also had dishes to do and guess what, no, so she went to the park instead. At least here she could find an open bench and hang out for a while just watching the birds.

And being very amused when one of the ducks wandered close enough that she unthinkingly phased her leg to let him pass, and he did so without a problem. Seriously, shouldn't ducks even find that a little weird? "Well, you have definitely been here too long, little guy," Kitty told him.

The Devil's Nest, Wednesday Evening

Tonight seemed to be Taylor Swift night at the bar. For some reason or other. Derek was just going to assume it was because the of the DJ's continued hatred of all those who worked there. Which, you know, was distinctly possible.

So, enjoy listening to someone sing about an ex-boyfriend. And another ex-boyfriend. And then, to switch it up, another ex-boyfriend.

Derek was just going to spend his evening trying to find earplugs, thank you.

Luke's, Wednesday

Kenzi had told Cookie that in the future, she owned Luke's. That's right. She was gonna be their boss.
