Of course the triplets thought going to work with Papa was the most exciting idea ever, no matter how much Jack tried to make it sound like that wasn't the case. Eventually he gave up trying to dissuade them. So he had Christiana shooing Tiny away so she could create hideous mocktails at the bar; Amélie primping in the ladies room for what seemed to Jack like an ungodly amount of time; and Annika holed up in a booth, reading one of his college history texts as avidly as if it were a romance novel.

He decided that he'd be pleased they at least all knew how to entertain themselves. The club's triplet-augmented sign read:

Christiana Priest, Junior Mixologist, Today Only.
(Yes, We Still Card.)

Luke's, Monday

Gert brought Luca to the diner today, figuring he needed to be fed at some point anyway. As it turned out, he was a huge hit with the kitchen staff, who allowed him to choose the daily specials (which he was great at) and the radio station for the day (which he was... not so great at).

2030s pop music wasn't any better than 2014 pop music, apparently. That was just Gert's opinion.

Mercy wasn't sure whether to be relieved or disappointed that no children had shown up for her. At the moment she was leaning toward relieved. Or at least that was her story and she was sticking to it.

Still, there might have been a lot of soundtracks from Disney movies being played today. What? Some of them had really good songs!

Cade showed up with a tow-headed nine year old in tow and a couple of bags of Moobyburgers.

"Here's where I work," he said, opening the door. "Don't karking break anything."

Val scoffed at him as he wandered inside, looking around. "I'm just impressed you have a real job."

Cade scowled at him. "Cute."

Stark's was open and full of family love...or something.

The Park, Monday Sundown

Just like a portal had appeared in the park on Saturday morning, one now appeared late on Monday again. But whereas the first portal had sent children of various ages and parentages tumbling onto the island, this one sent out a call that all said children had to heed.

It was time to say goodbye and go home.
