As was her wont, Rosalind came carefully down the stairs expecting to find the worst since the shop so often lived down to her expectations.

To her disquiet, the store was behaving itself. She peered down aisles, then walked down them, pulling books off the shelves at random to make sure they were what they were supposed to be before putting them back.

Eventually, Rosalind took a seat at the front counter, flipping the sign to open. Then she drank deeply of her coffee and proceeded to side-eye the entire shop.

She didn't trust it. It had behaved itself before, yes, but usually only when she was feeling under the weather. Today, she felt fine… and this made the spot between her shoulder blades itch.

The shop was open and there was a sign outside that read:

Now hiring! Apply inside!

First thing Surreal did when she got in today was toss a few balls of witchlight near the floor and grab the broom, so she could sweep up any teeny shards of glass that might be waiting for an unwary foot, or bits and boobs of spell components that people really should not be inhaling.

Once that was settled to her satisfaction, she set about making herself a pretty pretty poison locket. Because it was pretty. And she didn't need to be a Widow to know her poisons.

The Magic Box was open and ocd-free, and if you asked nicely, Surreal might make a locket for you, too.

This place seemed to be very, very small today. Back in Wonderland, Hatter tended to stick to his tea shop and the area around it so small he was used to but he was part of something bigger. Here, he barely knew two people and had no real purpose. Really, making tea was fun and ordering people around even more so but he was going to get bored if he didn't find a purpose, something to drive him soon.

Maybe Alice would pop up one day. Or maybe she'd forgotten him and was back to dating people who were much better for her. Maybe Hatter didn't care about that. He was propped up in his chair, sipping some specially made tea (that he would not be offering to anyone since it contained some special ingredients) while the staff bustled around and prepped the restaurant for opening.

Soon enough, things were cooking and warming and the door was open to let in a nice breeze.

The thing about spending weekend nights giving his wolf form free rein in the woods was that it meant his human form was damn exhausted, and more than a little sore. Werewolf healing couldn't quite touch this kind of bone-deep tired.

Jack had slept most of it off by the time he got to work on Monday, but bits of the weariness still crept in. (He avoided sitting down, because when he did he didn't want to get up.) He brewed himself an extra-strong pot of coffee before starting on his work.

[OOC: Open club, no OCD!]

After a fun (no, not really) session in Ender's class about dealing with timelines and relatives and oh, your grandparents being five years older than you now and really karking touchy around each other still which gross, Cade slouched behind the counter at the shop and sulkily drank his milkshake.

He'd help you if you needed something fixed, but service with a smile had never exactly been his thing.

Hannibal was back in town today, this time with a contractor in tow. He'd foregone anyone from his own world in favor of a highly-recommended one from a version of Baltimore that was used to both advanced technology and magic, thus sparing himself awkward questions of a different kind than he was used to considering.

Which didn't mean he wasn't going to have them sign a waiver. He'd heard the radio stories about Doom.

He showed them to the gate, paid a bit extra for them to check the sign for booby-traps, disarm said traps, and take down the "DOOMHAUS", then left them to wander the place with his specifications in hand. They seemed delighted to have more or less free rein, and after watching for a bit, he elected to walk around town. They had his number if they needed him.

[OOC: Open to anyone who wants to catch Hannibal, or I guess I could throw a contractor at you if you like. :)]

Mercy wasn't really quite sure how it happened, but somehow the only thing that seemed to want to play was Happy.

And okay, after a while, what could you do but dance along.

So... she was.
