Now that the holiday shopping -- and subsequent shipping -- crunch was over with, the post office had seemed abnormally quiet, and Éponine was just starting to readjust to that.

It was a good thing it wasn't nearly as busy in here as it had been last month, really, because as it was with the number of forms people started to fill out and then had to discard halfway through when they realized they'd put the wrong year on the date she was busy enough emptying out the paper recycling bins.  Yes, this was partly due to the new year, but it was already a more common occurrence here than it was most post offices, what with Fandom and people coming from all over the timeline.

It was a lot of discarded forms.  Why did you think the padded envelopes they sold in the lobby were the kind stuffed with recycled shredded paper instead of air bubbles?

The holiday decorations were down, and no, Tino, they were not going to start decorating for Valentine's Day yet, not even if the stores were. Kitty could only assume he was planning something for that barista at the Perk or something.

Aside from that little argument, it was a pretty quiet night tonight, with Kitty taking advantage of some free time to either jot class ideas down on a napkin, or to check on her phone to do some planning on a certain thing for birthday week.

Thrilling times at Caritas, thrilling times.

Something about the cold weather brought to mind Vic's previous job in Wyoming. Of course this being Fandom it meant less murders but more paperwork and general weirdness happening all the time.

Still the weather was making Vic somewhat sentimental. She was currently stationed in at a table looking out the window as she texted her friends back home. There was little hope they would reply but the simple action made her feel better.

Of course Atton had barely gotten back to the island or Mical had been on the comm again. He'd made it pretty clear to the guy that the semester was kicking off again and that meant he wasn't just going to come rushing in every time Mical barked - not that he ever did, thank you very much - but he hadn't been able to get out of this one.

So, hey. A whole pie at JGoB's? It'd worked pretty well for him last week. He was going to make it a habit.

Which was how he wound up there again, early in the morning before classes, shoveling cherry pie into his mouth. He had to stop every now and again, though, as he'd put down his little pocket radio and tuned it into WTFH, and... "Oh, space, Skywalker."

Seriously, it was that the guy got this kicked puppy face whenever you brought up the subject, or he'd be over there making fun of him right now.
