There seemed to be an unusually low number of inquiries today, at least the sort of inquiries that led to Éponine having to research the most obscure and seemingly implausible extradimensional shipping rates this particular post office had at its disposal.

She didn't actually mind that much -- what she found tended to be amusing enough to make up for the annoyance. She just found this lull disquieting, and fully expected some unavoidable and absurd pressing matter to come along and make up for it.

Then she walked into the mailroom and looked up to see vines loaded with bunches of ripe grapes growing across the ceiling.

What? Picking them was a pressing matter. As far as she was concerned, it was a free lunch, and on top of that she certainly wasn't above trying to resell them to any customers who came in.

Today was your typical day at the station with the typical residents calling in to complain about nothing in particular.

"Yes, ma'am. I understand. You have an overabundance of bananas in your kitchen."

Really nothing.

"Are you sure there isn't a real crime you need to report? Theft? Murder? Jaywalking?"

Vic really didn't care for these calls.

"I'm sorry, Ma'am but maybe the island thinks you need more potassium. Call again when you have an actual crime."

Dante? Not really the kind of guy who kept a schedule.

However, he'd been by here a couple of times, and the cat definitely seemed to be on one. So, fuck it. Tuesday afternoons on the Kwik Stop roof was where it was gonna have to be at. He showed up again with a bag full of stolen slices of meat and put 'em down next to him on the roof. "Lunch is here, if you want it," he called.

A couple moments later, the cat hopped back up on the roof, wandered over towards the meat, sniffed it, and then started scarfing it down.

"I don't get as much as a meow this time, huh?" Dante said. He shook his head. "Cats. Ungrateful animals."

The cat headbutted his thigh. "Hey, you're the one pawing in on my time," Dante said, and reached into his pocket to find a cigarette.

The probe that Jessica had previously sent to Battleworld went down at some point last week. Today she was doing whatever she could to figure out what brought it down. Jarvis helped sort through the final data and managed to pull up the final image the probe recorded. It was a big green fist.

"Jarvis, is this on the route we scouted from Peter's domain?" Jessica checked.

"No, it's some distance north of the giant castle, across a sea. No rerouting required," Jarvis answered.

"Good. I really don't want to get killed by a Hulk during this trip," Jessica said. "Especially not after littering in his backyard."

The shop was open.

Tino was getting along just fine with the flamingo today. He was downright cheerful, even. Most bosses would take this as a good sign.

Then there was Kitty.

"What did you do? Did you poison him or something?"

Tino didn't answer, because Tino was kind of a jerk.
