Ada opened up the store after her classes, immediately digging in to the shipment of scarves from Sunday, trying them on and burying herself in a pile of warm and fluffy.

Look, you cope with your incoming family in your way, Ada was going to build a soft and cozy fort.

Demon Marcus was open, and the mermaid is...somewhere in the scarf-pile.

It was a dramatic day at the Trooper Station. They had received multiple reports of cats stuck in trees. Each one of those reports was simple enough to resolve for armored military-men. But now Jessica was moderating a discussion of both whether or not it was possible the cats were planning something and how ridiculous it was to have that discussion.

The winning arguments at the moment were "Probably not" and "Not ridiculous enough to be comfortable," respectively.

A large box had ended up in the mail room without actually having a mailing address on it. It didn't have a return address on it, either. If it weren't for the paid and cancelled postage on it, Tip wouldn't have been certain it had gone through the mail service at all.

It didn't have any names on it, but it did, after some examination, have a customs slip on it, which listed the contents as "curses".

There was a large black burn mark on the side, as though someone or something had burned a logo off, and a sticker across the opposite side warning people not to open it until a particular date, a good 70 years in the future. That, and a "this end up" label pointing at the floor were the only legible markings on the whole thing.

Tip decided she was going to avoid going into the mail room, today.

It was possible that Mary had gone a little overboard while stocking up at the party store. The hotel lobby was filled to the brim with balloons and paper streamers. The bell boy was tripping over balloons as he wrestled with luggage and Gunther was frowning as he pulled streamers out of the fruit bowl. But Mary, having learned her decorating style in Las Vegas, thought it was just perfect. So what if the guest register was only accessible if one passed through no less than five balloon arches? Just be grateful that Mary hadn't pulled out the glitter yet.
