Young Amaya Blackstone was feeling awfully proud of herself. She came into the shop and battled her shyness to the point of winning, which allowed her to give a Very Serious Talk with Apu about what they would be doing today and how to keep the shop, pushing her glasses up her nose a few times in the process. Then she moved an honestly surprisingly heavy stool all the way from the furniture area to the counter so that she could better reach the register. Then the register was malfunctioning, and while Apu brought her a little plastic one from the toy sections with the idea that they should use that, she just shook her head, told him to give her five minutes, and in only four, she managed to fix it so that it worked again and it made a nice ringing when you opened it.

"But it always made that sound," Apu pointed out.

"Oh, well," said Amaya, frowning at him, and she sniffled a little, pushing up her glasses again, and sucking in a bit of saliva from the way her braces headgear made her drool more than she'd like, "now it's prettier."

Well, it looked like this dinner party was going to either be dead or the strangest one that Tony had thrown in a long time, just based on how he woke up this morning.

But the invites had been sent and there was a catered turkey all ready to be eaten. And mama didn't raise no quitter, so here Tony was. Soldiering on through One Of Those Weekends.

"...oh god, should I have childproofed the cabinets?" he asked himself, staring at his completely not kid-friendly apartment.

Yeah, this would be a great party.

Covent Garden Flowers, Saturday

Seivarden hadn't noticed any small children on her way to work, so if they showed up in the shop she would be a little surprised. Not many people on the island had families for some reason as far as she could tell.

By now she had formed a habit for her Saturday shift. After discovering what kind of trouble the shop was throwing at her, she made tea and settled down behind the counter, doing her best to ignore what was going on. Then, when she got bored, she began to arrange flowers. By now she wasn't too bad at it.

As today was quiet, with only the flowers occasionally changing places, she was probably going to drink far too much tea. The changing places thing did mess up the arrangements a little, but she tried to ignore that.

The Magic Box, Saturday

The first hint Jenkins had that something had gone weird was the fact that his short sword had turned into foam rubber. It was only while he tried to work out how to turn it back to its normal form that he discovered his potions had turned into fruit juice with edible sparkles.

In fact, it seemed that every dangerous object in his shop had become entirely harmless overnight.

"Tasty," he noted, as he tested the last of distilled nightshade by dipping his finger in it and touching it to his tongue. "But very disconcerting."
