Ridiculous hats were better than other things that she'd had to endure this month. Since this was leading up to some local holiday she had expected it to get worse, so Seivarden was in a better mood than could be expected. That included the other things in her life though, so it wasn't saying much.

She wished she had brought warmer clothes though. Who in their right mind would buy those cold mushrooms? At least the trees weren't too bad. Apparently they were traditional during this holiday, not that she cared about whatever was celebrated.

She had tea. Good tea. That improved everything, even if just a little.

Bears wandering around wasn't the strangest thing Miguel had ever seen, and since they seemed friendly enough, they didn't bother him as he made his way to work. They had, however, left him with quite a bit of Coke.

The kitchen staff were more of a bother - the festive clothes were their own thing to deal with, the carolling he could put up with, but - "How did you manage to get glitter in everything?"

He hadn't been on the island long enough to learn about that one yet.

"Okay, look, we'll just make something new. Get rid of that or take it home or something - we are not serving glittery food."

The cook gave him a betrayed look, and he sighed. "Unless it's food-grade glitter, okay? We're not poisoning people. We can make new things, maybe use up some of this stuff I've got."
