Miguel had resorted to swinging on webs to work today, and it still took him longer than usual. Fortunately, his strength meant he could still open the door; he left it open about an inch in case anyone else had the same problem and not the same solution.

He arrived to see this latest bout of island whimsy had also hit the cook and the busboy, but not the dishwasher - the rather harried dishwasher had the cook on his shoulder, talking him through making the orders.

Miguel just waved and went to get a cup of coffee. Maybe he'd bathe in it.

Today's specials:
Dim sum
Tapas
Basically small plates of everything

Luke's was open!

Please don't step on the busboy; he's doing his best.

After what had been quite a creative flurry of curses that extended well beyond her usual zardses and zoundses, the small and quite-a-deal-more-than-just-pint-sized Amaya realized that she could either continue to be mad about her current short state of affairs, or she could be glad for the fact that at least she wasn't an awkward kid or a sultry vampiress or some sort of animal, she was very much herself at her current age, just not exactly her usual size. And herself still had two capable (if miniturized) hands, didn't she? So instead of getting upset, she decided to just get to work.

It took some doing. It took a lot of doing, actually, but thanks to quite a few literal thimblefulls of coffee, she was geared up and ready to tackle the exciting challenge of managing to get things to work around here. It was the kind of challenge where she had to try and outthink the shrink, and she planned to rise to it!

This involved a variety of big little tasks, such as: tossing a belt around the banister of the stairs leading down to the shop from her apartment to help her get down there faster. Lighting the forge with a match that was more like a torch after discovering the stones used to make the forge were layered in a rustic fashion that made for plenty of footholds. Quite a few good hops on one of the smaller bellows to get the fire stoked more. The development of a whole tiny pulley system to help her haul up an iron block that wasn't much use at normal size but would make a great temporary anvil, as well as a lot of other narrow little pieces here and there that she hadn't gotten around to melting down that she could probably make into tiny little swords as soon as she managed to figure out how to fashion herself a little hammer with some other bits of metal and some wood...shouldn't be too hard! Not like she'd be able to do much else today, so she figured, hey, it was worth a go. All this while mostly just in a nightdress until she took the time to rip up some cloth to fashion up herself a decent enough work apron. Bit too bad it wasn't so easy dealing with a lack of good work gloves, though; she'd have a few new scorches and burns and blistered to admire, at least.

And, hey, if it turns out that there was something a bit more nefarious behind her sudden size, well, then, she'd have at least a few weapons on hand to do something about it!

...ooh, or what if she had a nice little hand mini-trebuchet on hand? That'd be pretty good! Plenty of wood, she'd just have to find out what might make a handy mini-saw...

Yeah. This was definitely going to get her through the day without having to stop and think too much about how she wouldn't even come up to the hilt of the tiniest dagger right now.

The Tiny Forge is open!

Seivarden had noticed a lot of tiny people around on her way to the flower shop, and hoped that whatever was going on wasn't going to involve her. It was a matter of definition. Soon after she had opened, a tiny customer showed up, wanting a tiny flower arrangement to cheer up a tiny friend. The tiny customer was very picky and it took Seivarden quite some time to put the arrangement together, She finally snapped when the tiny customer wanted a discount because the flowers were tiny ones, and it resulted in a bit of an argument.

After that she really needed tea.

It had been quite a struggle to get to town from the dorms, dragging a key, and then actually manage to open the shop. It would have been so much easier if she hadn't been stuck in one body. A decade of tiny ancillaries would have been so much more helpful. When the store was open, Breq managed to get up on one of the shelves, doing her best to stay out of the way of the dancing mice.

Why had the dancing mice decided to show up today? They didn't say.
