To tell the truth, Éponine wasn't all that shaken by her role in last week's events. A little bit sad, yes, but she had spent so long doing whatever it was she had to in order to survive that she couldn't really be surprised about falling back on that instinct. She just liked to think she was doing better about that these days.

Which she supposed she was, given that she was thinking about it now.

Ah well. There was work to do, mail to sort and get delivered, all of which was much easier to do now that she had movable hands again, and she was perfectly fine with focusing on that instead of dwelling too much on the previous week.

And the caravan of gremlins driving tiny dog sleds full of letters (and yes, pulled by tiny dogs) through the loading area. She wasn't even going to ask how that worked in the summertime, but they were awfully cute.

Last week, Wayne hadn't gone to work, on account of the fact that his work had, at that time, hadn't really existed as such. This week, however, everything on the island was back to normal, including the scrapyard, though being there right now gave him a bit of a strange feeling. He'd been in the Toybox for a good long time last week, ever since that Astrid person dumped him in there, and while he hadn't been slated for any execution as far as he knew, it was probably just a matter of time before he'd have come there to meet some sort of fate.

It was just really surreal, to think about, that this place was where all that fighting and drama and action had went down and now...it was just back to normal, usual scrapyard, with a bunch of spaceships parked there and the bitey bits bouncing around hoping for snacks.

It sort of hurt his head to think about it, so Wayne did the next best thing to help ensure he wasn't thinking about it, and that was just getting to work, trying to be productive, but mostly just moving things from here to here, as usual, just like before.

Still hard to shake it, though. Shuri'd been one of those people marched over here for executuion. Keyleth, too...

Wayne went to go find something heavier to move from here to here.

Kitty was going to be unapologetically clingy for a while, which was why Lexi came to work with her today, at least until bedtime.

Which was turning out to be a challenge! She couldn't mix drinks with Lexi in the carrier (because Lexi kept grabbing the drinks) and she'd finally set her down on the bar for a while before she just started pulling glasses towards her.

So now she was working with Lexi on her hip, asking, "Okay, what is this. Do I need to worry about you?"

Shunsui was not having a great day. What had started out as a routine drop into the store just so that he could say he had done it turned into a whole ordeal because apparently Summer-chan had left without doing the orders on Monday, probably assuming that Shunsui should do them, which, really, was a very bold assumption on her part, if you asked him, and so he tried to convinced Apu-san that he should do the orders. After all, he knew the store better than anyone, while Shunsui'd only just gotten back and who even knows how much the system had changed since the last time he was here? They were already a day late, better just have someone capable taking care of it rather than having him muck around trying to figure it out...

Apu-san wasn't having any of it, though, insisting that it was the owner's job, and that meant his job, and he was going to have to learn eventually, which just sort of made Shunsui narrow his eyes and wonder how he could have let himself forget how stubborn Apu-san could be and just settled things with a little withering, "Do we really even need all that much, anyway?"

So it might be a few slim weeks for the shelves of Turtle & Canary. But Shunsui did agree to at least put in an order for glitter and a few other things, because even he knew what was up with the start of the the fall semester right around the corner.

The puppies were puppies this week! And the fish weren't missing, and the birds weren't radioactive and diseased, and the cats weren't waist-high with tusks, and Zack was feeling pretty good about all of those things, really. He was even smiling as he and Girl made their rounds of the Furnado, checking up on each and every animal that was there. Even...

"Mr. Winkles, you know you're not going to get extra playtime in the ball if you keep trying to run people over while you're in it."

Even Zack's evil gerbil, yes.

Furnado is open! And as normal as it's ever been.

Norman wasn't so sure he wanted to know what he and Lana had missed last week, no. Especially not when he came into work and there was a line-up of people wanting to bring, of all things, Voodoo dolls in for disenchanting and safe disposal? And not even because of what that meant for whoever those things were in effigy of, but because of what it meant for the poor dolls.

Norman had concerns. First off: the dolls? Really?

And secondly, why did so many people here have voodoo dolls?!

Fandom, you were baffling.

Radio had told Hannibal two things: that the current bout of insanity seemed to be over, and that last week had been traumatizing. So, he was back in his office today, waiting for the inevitable lack of people admitting they were traumatized.

And still working on the financial and legal complications that were living in a dimension he had never been born in. Fortunately, it wasn't the strangest thing Jono's world had seen.
