Shunsui had been woken up very early that morning (and, he suspected, very intentionally early) by a very short but stern Jigokuchō from Nanao-chan that had mentioned that Yamamoto appeared to have taken an interest in how Shunsui's writing was coming along, and if he could please send new pages as evidence of his progress, it would save everyone else a great deal of trouble...

Which would be fine, of course, if there had been any progress on the book, which of course there hadn't been, although he suspected Yama-jii hadn't said anything to Nanao-chan about it at all.

Thankfully, he did have a stack of chapters written in a swing of inspiration during that last sex pollen week, but that had been so long that, of course, he'd needed to go through those chapters to refresh his memory on what he was working on, and, obviously, he'd lost the thread of where he was going so maybe if he just tried re-writing those chapters to really recapture their spirit...and Nanao-chan really had sent that hell butterfly so very early, he clearly wouldn't want to write on a sleep-deprived mind, so if he just took a little nap before he started...

Not to mention there were customers to help, and Apu-san shouldn't have to stack those cereal boxes by himself, now, should he...? Of course not. It was very important to take care of distractions like that before really getting to work, after all.

The band was still on their jam kick, which would be great, if it weren't for the fact that the drummer was still having a lot of difficulty with his arm, and Summer was momentarily distracted whenever they seemed to try to think of a new solution for having it stay in place, before she offered her own unsolicited advice (of course).

"I mean" she mused, "maybe this is, like, super obvious, but have you guys ever tried, like super glue or something?"

Which meant she was met with a whole set of withering looking on several half-rotted faces that made it very clear that of course they'd tried superglue, why wouldn't they have tried the most obvious thing anyone with literally half a brain (and often significantly less than that!) would think of?

Which also meant she would be nice and politely ignore the fact that they sent the keyboardist out for a bit, a keyboardist who returned with a small bag from the Kwik Stop that contained a bottle of superglue that they did a poor job of concealiing that they were trying.

"You guys could have at least gone to T&C," she pointed out. "Seriously."

They might have been a little smug about the fact that the superglue did not, in fact, work, but, really, there were no winners in this situation any way you looked at it.

Fandom Trooper Station, Wednesday

There were croissants and coffee for the troopers to keep them from rising up in revolt against Steve's weird attempts at whipping them into shape. Also because he wanted pastries for breakfast and if he couldn't get the donuts he wanted, he'd settle for buttery flakiness.

But for now, Danny and his crumbs, were at his desk, getting some paperwork done.

Which included that damn memo for the rickshaw siren.
