So Troy now had a job, because while living on his own for the most part at boarding school away from family was pretty awesome (except for Christmas), it was also a little expensive? At least it was the way Troy was living it and his parents weren't exactly all that generous on an allowance for things, so he needed money, and getting a job meant more money!

And as far as places he could work went, the music shop seemed like a good one, for reasons that were just seemed...right? Like, there was just something that made it feel oddly fitting.

Of course, he never really had a job before, so he wasn't even sure what he was supposed to do. So he was mostly just sort of...there? And being paid for it? Maybe waiting for his boss to show up and tell him what to do? There was maybe a customer here and there, and he rang them out, but that was kind of it and if this was what having a job was like, he'll take it!

Since his class was tomorrow, Ignis was back on the island after returning to Insomnia to attend to his usual duties, and while he was still not completely on board with this arrangement, he was at least open to giving it a try. As such, he had decided to take the offer of the extra room with Seivarden; it would certainly be more convenient and cost-effective than relying on the hotel while he was here, and his boarder seemed a decent enough person.

There was, of course, the fact that she did not seem to possess a coffee maker, which was something of the highest order to be taken care of almost immediately.

First, though, for now, Ignis was going to enjoy the coffee at the local cafe, which he felt was far superior in quality than what passed for an excuse for coffee at the bus terminal, though was a little lacking to what he might get back home, settle in comfortably at a table, and get started on finalizing his lesson plans and cirriculum for the class. Just because he was not entirely pleased with his teaching arrangements here, that did not mean that he shouldn't put forth the best effort possible and ensure that it was the best class on culinary basics he could offer.

"I, I swear you could hear a hair pin drop," Iris sang softly to herself as she poured over her notes for the new scents she was in the process of developing. The colours of the year were an interesting combination of things and she thought that it might be fun to see what she could come up with. Yellow and grey and teal and jumpsuit orange

Grey could be a lot of things, though her first thoughts dwelled heavily on smoke and metal and the smell of rain and rust (which brought in orange nicely, though it wasn't specifically 'jumpsuit orange').

A muted yellow could be a warm, buttery scent while a brighter yellow could evoke a sharp splash of lemonade, a summery beach (there was the teal), and the grey of gravel…

Iris snorted.

Apparently she missed home and summer, in about that order. Well, it wasn't wrong.

Nina burst through the doors of the bookstore precisely fifteen minutes before she was due to open. Like, sure, she was the owner-on-island and if she was late (perish the thought) no one but her would care (she'd care a lot though) and everything but it was the principal of the matter. If she didn't hold herself up to high standards then how could she ever expect to meet anyone else's?

Because she'd been in earlier in the week to clean, Nina didn't have to do much else but sweep the store with a glance, turn on the lights, get a glass of water for herself, and then she could get down to business. It was fun to set out the new books they'd gotten in, Nina making mental notes for a few that she wanted to read herself, and it was also fun to put in a new order for things.

As the day wore on, though, all of that was accomplished and she was alternating between working on her scripts for Sir Foomy, pouring over what her class had suggested on Monday, and, most interestingly, working on posters for her book club.

Since she wasn't busy enough and all but, like, it was criminal how the island didn't have one already…
