Furnado Animal Shelter; Monday [06/21].

Since Sakaki had taken this job and was attending this school as part of a program that was supposed to help her get into veterinary school one day, that meant that a good portion of her experience at Furnado was going to be in learning things, not only through experience, but also through books, and over the past few weeks, she'd finished one of them about different breeds of different animals, and so now it was time for her to fill out a test about what she'd learned for the vet.

Or, really, the vet figured that giving Sakaki a test to focus on instead of attempting to still make friends with all the cats was a good distraction that might actually allow the poor girl to leave without even a scratch today.

Wishful thinking, perhaps, but Sakaki did focus a lot on the test in between various tasks around the shelter, and by the time she was finished, the cats had managed to find plenty of spaces to hide.

...for now.

Annie had meant to do this last week wandered into the bar on Monday to find Tiny behind the bar and a faint scent of cement dust in the air.

"You guys really didn't hire another bartender to replace me?" she asked, while Tiny gave her what Annie was interpreting as a look that meant he was glad to see she'd returned!

In any case, she wasn't heading back to New York until tomorrow, so she easily slipped behind the bar and started poking around for the blender. "What do you think -- mai tais?"

At least they were actually seasonally appropriate now!

Steve got back from Danny's Father's Day trip to Honolulu (that Steve had tagged along on so he could visit his dad's gravesite) with five minutes to spare before being late for work. So he was jetlagged (portal-lagged?) and slightly cranky from not getting his morning swim.

"We're going for a morning swim!"

A bunch of helmeted Troopers turned in unison to judge the hell out of Steve.

"I'm going on a morning swim," Steve amended. "You can stay here and field calls from the Bee Lady."

Oh, look, a bunch of volunteers to swim! How weird!

The Trooper Station was open and ready to assist you. Please don't be the Bee Lady.

Seivarden decided to be creative today, and Summer had anyway told her not to serve arrack. After some inspiration from Saturday she decided on a drink she had bought for Summer somewhere along the birthday party bar crawl. Probably in the pink bar. Even if Seivarden had stayed mostly sober there had been too many of them to remember them all.

Maybe it was because Saturday had reminded her of a part of her life where she had enjoyed that sort of thing in order to forget, she had ended up melancholy. If anyone asked, she would still say it was the party of the year.
