Prompto really hadn't meant to be late coming in for his day at the Photo Hut, but, well...there had been chickens. In capes. And he personally felt it was his obligation...nay, duty!....to ensure that there was plenty of photographic evidience of such a phenominon, and the only thing preventing him from wanting to take them all home was the fact that he knew Issa would not stand for such a thing.

But chickens were great! They were like chocobos, but, like...TINIER!

And so while he was completely planning on going through some of the inventory in the store that day to see what he might need to borrow for his class next semester, Prompto found himself more often just distracted going through the pictures he'd taken on the way over and chuckling happily at the caped chicken antics he had captured in action and trying not to be a little bummed out by the fact that, since they were probably a holiday thing, they'd probably all be gone by tomorrow.

But at least he had the pictures to remember them by!

And he was wondering if somehow, chocobo capes needed to come into play for the final in his class this week....

If anything, it was all serving as an excellent distraction from just flailing about trying to find a good song for him and Liz to do at karaoke this week...

Sakaki was feeling a little...torn.

Because, on the one hand, all those chickens in capes that seemed to have appeared overnight were causing complete chaos with the other animals, especially the cats (who were wary and at time aggressive) and the dogs (who mostly just seemed to want to play?), plus all the additional stress of the construction going on in one area of the shelter for the new fishtanks that were being installed.....

Needless to say, it was a lot to handle! And Sakaki had mostly just wanted a nice, quiet day where she could catch up on her veterinary school studies, but instead she was trying to play mediator between a bunch of caped chickens and other animals and she wondered if she should just call her new boss to come in and help, because she did have a new boss now, and he was big and strong and could probably handle it, but at the same time, she not only wanted to prove herself to him by being able to handle the situation, but she was also kind of afraid of Sidon still and didn't want to upset him!

It was truly a conundrum, and it was going to be a very stressful and injury-laden day, but she was going to try her best, and, if anything, eventually, she'd managed to corral them all to seperate spaces and then she could flop into a chair behind the counter, covered in cat-scratches and chicken feathers and hopefully catch her breath a moment before more chickens showed up and it all started all over again...

One of the biggest issues with teaching a Monday morning class, especially in the second period, was that it game Apu plenty of time without anyone to hold him back to set things up for whatever bullshit he was on that day. Summer was pretty sure he'd just given some chickens in capes an exestential crisis by letting them wander into the meat department, and he'd also, apparently, been trying to learn how to play the violin.

Emphasis on trying.

What was even more interesting was that he'd set up by the Squishy mahcine to busk and solicit tips with a violin case open at his feet as he tried to work his way through what Summer thought were supposed to be modern pop classics, but, honestly, it was really hard to tell among all the clearly wrong notes and unfortunate screeches of strings.

She was half tempted to go tell the cheese panda that she'd overheard Apu insulting French cheeses just to spark his ire or, conversely, trying to figure how much it would take to just pay the man to stop.

Jon was feeling much better today, and only looking his standard amount of unslept. He was, at least, pleased to be able to get out of the flat. So he was at the Perk, getting his tea and settling in with his phone. Mostly to browse about and order as many awful, real books as he could in case the yule log thing or something like it were to happen again.

Eliot had slept through the bulk of the weekend, thankfully nightmare free, and thus had missed any of the holiday antics the island had decided to throw the last couple of days. Unfortunately, the little caped chickens strutting around the streets were a bit harder to miss.

"No," Eliot said, nudging chickens out of the way with the side of his foot as he opened the shop door. "You are not indoor chickens. I did enough cleaning up chicken shit as a minor, thank you. And look at you, you're clearly dressed for the weather. Shoo. Shoo!"

He nudged the last chicken out of the way and closed the door, pressing his back against it as thought the chickens were about to charge it en masse.

"Chickens," he muttered. "I suppose I should be glad it isn't goats."

He gagged faintly. He would forever have a slightly sick reaction to the thought of his family's goats.

He moved to the counter to log into the till, only to have a three pound weight suddenly alight on his shoulder. He closed his eyes and breathed slowly through his nose.

The chicken gently preened his hair.

"I really hate this town."

The Bee Lady was calling to complain about the chickens interrupting her bees' vibe.

Steve, who dealt with a lot of high hippies in Honolulu, was still at an absolute loss about what to tell her. Finally he decided, "I'll send Ralph right over."

Make it someone else's problem: a never-fail solution.
