When the island moved overnight, Dean had initially thought something bad was going down. After there were no signs of the walking dead or a threatening apocalypse, he decided just to go to work and see what Fayetteville might have to offer.

There was some initial excitement when he found a local restaurant named "Pies and Pints" (I mean who wouldn't be excited? Pies! Booze! In one location!) however this excitement did not last long as the "pies" in question were pizzas. Not actual pies.

And now Dean really wanted pie and whiskey. Or a whiskey pie.

Infinite Consortium is now open with Dean researching recipes for a pie no one should ever make.

Wanda was at the age where tracking hurricanes (or ex-hurricanes, sorry, Debby) was kind of fun, so she was kind of thrown off when she went to check when it was supposed to hit their area...and found that her weather app showed a whole different state. Huh. Well that was weird.

Well, fine, dash her amateur meteorologist dreams.

Kitty wasn't sure why they were in a different state today, but the change in scenery was really nice. She wasn't much of a hiker, though, so it'd been a chill day for her.

She hadn't thought Tino would be a hiker, but apparently he was, coming back with scratches on him and burrs on his shirt that suggested he was hiking wrong, and Kitty was begging- outright begging- him to go home and shower and then come back to work.

If anyone could be forgiven for not noticing the island's change of scenery, it would probably be Ignis. The scent of the air around him was different enough to catch his attention, like a little pin of something to keep the back of his mind, but since the streets and buildings had maintained that familiarity he was rather dependant on for getting around easily, he didn't think much of it.

Besides, he was too busy thinking, still, about this weekend, and realizing the tragedy that was being able to remember seeing again, albeit from someone else's eyes, only to have Liliana a squirrel the whole time.

Truly, there was no great justice in the world.

But at least he could console himself in the kitchen.

Tuesday: Plant Parenthood

Nell was very happy to have been left untouched by this weekend's strangeness. She went about her normal routine today, taking care of the plants, reorganizing some of the products she sold, and wondering about her class this week.

She'd planned on a trip to Soulwood, but given that the island was traveling around itself, it might be best to leave that to next week.

The gremlin aerobics class was all abuzz with Olympic gymnastics energy today, and so Gladio had helped them move a bunch of mats into the classroom space so they could work on tumbles and somersaults and flips a little more safely.

And if he managed to sneak in a lesson or two while he was there that left them (and even some of thr staff) a little in awe of just how well he could flip when he wanted to, well...

Okay, he was definitely showing off. Look, he might not be an Ignis when it came to that kind of thing, but he sure as hell wasn't a Prompto, either!

Around town (aka Chicago)- Wednesday early morning

Today the island was getting its kicks with a move to Chicago and the start of Route 66. Skyscrapers loomed over the causeway side of the island, and taking that into the surrounding area would put you in the middle of a bustling downtown. Maybe you'd like to see the lake from a boat or a beach? Or some iconic landmarks? The museums are good! Or take in 360 views and try and see your house from here? Because you can see your house from here.

Speaking of, buildings in Fandom had taken on the look of old Chicago style architecture. There were some new businesses around town, like restaurants selling deep dish pizza or Italian beef. (There are healthy options but let's be real. Clog your arteries as god intended.) The guy running the hot dog cart was definitely judging what you put on yours. And of course, surely you could find somewhere selling a Chicago Handshake. Also the pond was green. Like, really green. Don't worry, the dye's safe! They say!

It was 78 and sunny. Really the perfect summer day in the best summer city fight me.
