Jolee didn't know why Tino was dressed like a ninja and rapping behind the bar tonight and you could be damn sure that he wasn't going to ask. He really didn't want to know.

[OOC: AFK until about 8 Eastern, then I'm around! I had Vanilla Ice's Ninja Rap stuck in my head on the way home tonight for some reason.

ETA: Or maybe I'm not completely around. The cold that wouldn't die continues to not die and I don't feel great. Mod Tino for speed, but I will still answer pings, albeit slowly.]

Loki had no fucking reason to be back out at the desk today other than he needed to do something to take his mind off yesterday and, if that meant working, well, he was going to work. He knew it hadn't been too bad (besides the fucking singing of a fucking Disney song which he'd sooner repress) but he was stubborn and he wanted to be in a pissy mood today.

It was his lobby and he'd bitch around if he wanted.

So, he was behind the desk, actually trying to make some sense of the mess of papers, contracts and files he'd shoved underneath it in lieu of creating a file system. It wasn't like the apartment building was fucking massive so he had no idea where all the damn paper came from.

And fucking papercuts stung like a bitch.

[Ooooopen, yes.]

Lindsay would never admit to anyone that she was a nervous wreck but in preparing for having a dinner (Dinner. It was dinner right? Or was this a thing? Jesus, was this a thing? Oh crap what if this is a thing?) she had gone through five outfits before deciding on the sixth which was just a nice set of slacks, blouse and a jacket.

Of course now that she was here she was cursing herself under her breath for not wearing a skirt and fidgeting. Not that she'd want to admit to anyone that she was fidgeting.

[OOC: Lindsay is here for Ronon but public place, yadda yadda yadda]
[identity profile] flipped-god-off.livejournal.com
It was a testament to how fucking lazy Loki could be sometimes that he hadn't found this place before. Feeling cooped up in his apartment, he'd grabbed his jacket and started walking, having no destination in mind.

It was his shitty luck that he ended up standing right in fucking front of Mooby Land. It was one of the few things that could make him speechless and he was speechless for damn near five minutes. Of all the fucking things to follow him from the past, Mooby Land was the one he least wanted to do.

That fucking golden calf... )

[Dude, I do not know HOW I missed doing this earlier. I'm a failure but omg, I did it now. Also, totes an open post if you wanna find him lecturing or punching the golden calf! I'm around! if a bit slow! No more slowness yay!]

Lindsay was in a very quiet mood for the past few days and it continued into today. At the moment she was e-mailing a couple people from home trying to explain and apologize for what happened over the weekend.
[identity profile] lots-of-olives.livejournal.com
Pepper, honestly, was kind of still waiting for the fallout from those flowers she'd sent. She hadn't exactly approved of it, and the last thing she needed was Tony getting in romantic trouble with someone who could do more than babble to the tabloids or throw the flowers at his head or something.

So, she was just a little anxious as she worked today, though she was keeping her mind off of it. It wasn't really her problem, anyway.
[identity profile] memberslonely.livejournal.com
Lindsay was glad all her clothes were back because she seemed to be wearing them all at once at the office today. Including her winter coat.

"I hate this island."

It was becoming a mantra.

It was snowing outside.

It wasn't the first time he'd seen snow and it surely wouldn't be the last but it still caught his attention. It wasn't those wimpy fucking flurries either. It was coming down and already starting to blanket the ground and streets. Loki was leaning in the doorway, peering quietly out the front door and watching it come down. It was almost relaxing in a way.

And it wasn't like he was out in it or anything though he was contemplating. It'd been a good...long time since he'd thrown a snowball at someone. Last time he'd thrown one at someone, Bartleby had just glared and called him a child. He'd just gotten another snowball down his shirt for that. That'd been a good fistfight. Ah, memories.

Too bad the snow hadn't started yesterday. He'd have used the weather to his advantage by burying his fucking phone in it to stop it from ringing ever again. Alas, his phone was still in one piece and thankfully quiet.

So, Loki was just going to continue leaning in the front doorway, watching it snow and working really fucking hard. Really.

[MHA, she is open!]

Look at that, all his clothing was back. Huh.

Calmly stepping around the pile, and maybe snagged a shirt from it, Tony went down to the main lab to look into just what the kid had been doing with his satellite project. It wasn't horrible so far...

After yesterday's fiasco with the laundry machine, Linz was pretty much screwed when it came to clothing to wear for work. The only thing she had left was a sweat shirt, leggings and the formal dress she wore to New Year's Eve.

So it was a very overdressed Lindsay who was now going through the office looking for any listening devices a certain political figure might have planted.

Not that there were any but given Linz's activity the last few days the search was warranted.

Try as she might, Ino’s attention was scattered today as she attempted to sit still and actually get studying done on that American History book. Because seriously, it was like every time she went to work on it something else happened. Listening to last night’s radio just made her snicker about Ichigo, and she rolled her eyes about minding her own business.

If people came and talked to her, then it was her business. So there, stupid radio.

Trivial things were totally the way to go today, yes. Even though she kept, despite herself, glancing up at the ceiling and looking thoughtful.

Wellspring Arms is Open.

After his shenanigans earlier today, Loki had decided to spend the evening at the bar. Of course, when he'd walked in to find only Tino and his greasy face behind the bar, he'd been a little at a loss. Usually the old guy was around and he, at least, made for some decent conversation.

When the old guy failed to materialize, Loki took the initiative and just slid over and behind the counter and checked out all the alcohol. It was sad in a way. For him, at least.

Tino kept glaring. When Loki made to start tossing the bottles around like a movie he'd seen a long time ago, Tino's glare turned into a growl. It was almost cute in a way.

Eventually, Loki poured himself a glass of soda and amused himself with making faces at Tino.

Pepper was doing some very, very important work on her computer today.

Okay, Pepper was shoe-shopping.

Either way.

Loki had finally emerged from the depths of his apartment after being fairly certain that most people had already arrived on island and that classes had already started. No one needed their first exposure with this place to be him and his surly self.

Not that he was surly this morning. He was just his regular, snarky self. Regular setting. All systems go.

But, he was behind the desk this morning, feet up on the desk and tossing darts lazily at the dartboard. Even unfocused and lazy, most of his darts stayed right in or around the bullseye. He had skills. He thought about throwing a dart across the lobby into one of the far walls but all he needed was that bitchy cop (uh, the male one) to come down and threaten arrest again.

So, he threw darts until he got tired of that. The boredom only last a brief minute before he disappeared into his apartment, reappeared with a toaster and a box of Pop Tarts and had that toaster plugged in and set up, two Pop Tarts in and cooking.

Practice made perfect.

[MHA, she is open! Three vacancies! See the OOC note for a link to more information!]

"There, there," Jolee told Tino. "It'll be okay. Lift your head up high and get back to work. There are new people in town. That always causes people to want to drink more."

Tino couldn't help feeling sad, though. All of the teams he had been rooting for this weekend had lost! All he knew was that the Eagles had better win or he was going to be very angry.

[OOC: Tino up there is reflecting my opinions of the NFL playoffs this weekend. GO PHILLY! I may be a little slow again. Please mod Tino for speed or groups.]

It was a very hungover Lindsay who shuffled into work today. If the giant bottle of water and aspirin on her desk wasn't a good clue to how good of a time she had, the dimmed lights, groaning and temple rubbing might just be a dead giveaway.

She just hoped that no one else tried to come in to work today so there wouldn't be any noises that would kill her. Like people whispering.
[identity profile] flipped-god-off.livejournal.com
As soon as he'd gotten some caffeine in him, Loki went about tearing down most of the holiday decorations. He ripped, tugged, pulled and yanked, uncaring of saving the decorations. If he was still around in a year (oh fucking hell, that was depressing to think about), he'd just buy more.

Today, they all went into the trashcan. Well, everything but the lights. The lights stayed up and on. He kind of liked those.

Once that task was accomplished, he took a seat behind the desk, feet up on the counter and book laying open on his lap. He wasn't reading it, though. He'd glanced over, caught the hint of the bracelet from Rosie peeking out from under his shirt and fingered it for a moment. When Loki realized that just this small action was succeeding in almost making him fucking melancholy and nostalgic, he snarled and yanked his shirt sleeve down to cover the bracelet.

"Oh, fuck that," he said, picking up the book and chucking it across the lobby forcefully. "Fuck that."

It was his lobby and he could throw things if he wanted.

[MHA is ooooopen, of course!]

Marion was very surprised at the warm weather in town today and cursed herself for not investing in summer clothes when she came to town. Marion hadn't expected to have to deal with warm weather for another couple months. She put up a special for margaritas and started fanning herself with a coaster.

Lindsay was rubbing her right eye in the hopes it would stop twitching soon. If she was smart she would have checked the caller id before she picked up the phone.

Now she was getting an earful from her friends back home via a conference call of doom.

"No, I haven't lost my mind. Okay? My dog turned into a human," Linz repeated. "No it wasn't a prank. And... Don't call me insane. It really did snow sugar. And- Oh come on! I- Wait! Hold on! I sent you pictures of the egg nog and everything yesterday! And there really is a pony in my house!"

Linz then yanked the phone away from her ear as all three of her friends began to talk to her at once. She then grabbed a piece of paper and began to crumple it up near the mouthpiece.

"What's that? Phone.... (*crumple-crumple*) breaking up. Talk to you later!"

She then turned off her cellphone and was about to place it on her desk only to discover the spot was covered with a slice of flatbread.

She glared at it for a moment before the picked it up and started to eat.

"At least I won't go hungry in this place," she grumbled to herself.
[identity profile] memberslonely.livejournal.com
Lindsay looked dubiously at the computer screen where he had drafted yet another e-mail to her friends about her new life in Fandom.

Which read thusly... )

She thought about deleting it and just moving on the work day but she knew sooner or later she'd have to communicate with her friends back home or they'd just show up unannounced.

"Screw it."

She hit send and twenty minutes later when her cell phone began to ring she groaned and picked it up.

"Hi. No, I'm not insane. I'll talk to you later."

And then she promptly hung up. Five seconds later it started ringing again and this time she ignored it.

"I'm never going to get used to this place."

Miss Elizabeth Bennet did not socialize herself frequently enough. Her sister Jane had said as much, and Jane was never wrong. As she had finished her notes on tomorrow's class, she convinced herself to go into town and stop at that infernal coffee place, to see if possibly, today, she could convince them to make tea properly. She did not hold out much hope.

The unending holiday music coming from his radio was going to drive him slowly insane, Loki was sure of that. As it was right now, he could block it out, pretend it was going to end after the next fucking song even when it kept going and going.

Still, he wanted the noise today. It was better than an all too quiet lobby with twinkling lights. He'd end up falling asleep and he'd slept plenty last night. Falling asleep in front of the television before midnight was something he hadn't done in awhile.

So, today, he'd bypassed the chair behind the desk (it was comfortable and he didn't need to be asleep and drooling in his chair should anyone come by) to actually sit on top of the desk today. He was idly paging through a book he'd read way too many times already but it was the only one he owned so it would have to do. He really needed to look into getting some more books.

Loki kept catching himself either humming or fucking swaying with the music from his position on the desk and had to forcibly stop himself. That only lasted a few minutes before he was doing it again. Fucking holidays.

[MHA is open, of course!]

After spending the morning familiarizing herself with her computer system, Lindsay was now trying to compose and e-mail to her friends back home- Scratch that. An e-mail to her friends back in San Francisco. Only problem was how do you e-mail your friends about a place like Fandom without sounding crazy?

"Hey guys. Things are going well here. Everyone is very nice and there are aliens, people from other centuries living here and my boss likes to build robotic armor for himself," Linz said reading aloud what she wrote and then promptly deleted it.

No reason to make them think she had really got nuts.

Sarah had been slacking on her workouts lately; she still ran, she'd go nuts if she didn't, but she hadn't hit the gym nearly often enough. So she was there this morning, putting herself through her paces on the weights circuit and eying the punching bags. She'd need to get in some work on them, too.

The TVs mounted over the treadmills were tuned to the Yule log station, and she noticed them with mild surprise. It seemed early for it, but it was still almost soothing.

[OOC: Open gym.]

Today, Ender had wired his laptop into the hologram system. He was just trying to get some bead on the kind of alloys you'd need to fly a spaceship. He didn't know them as anything other than a lesson or a blink of light in the simulator, and he was curious to know how they fit together.

It seemed like knowledge that could come in handy later. So he found stuff on the internet, and fiddled with the holograms to give him a better look.
