Michael yawned as he opened the store. Hunter had gone for a long walk after dinner last night, just squeaking in under the curfew deadline by the time he got home. Michael hadn't questioned him about it, and Hunter hadn't offered up any detail either. Fandom Town had its dangerous spots, and Michael had spent a couple of hours tossing and turning, wondering what kind of trouble his kid might have gotten into the night before. At 24, Hunter was old enough to take care of himself, but it didn't stop his parents from worrying about him.

Hunter stumbled down the stairs a couple of minutes after the store opened, and seated himself by the magazine rack with a couple of comic books on his lap. Ben was still upstairs, spending a little time working on his book.

Allison is open and willing to talk to whoever comes in.

After her delivery to Chaucer's, Kiki heads to Aziraphale's to open the bookshop for the day.

The door is not properly locked, and, nervously, Kiki opens the door. A table has been knocked over, and books are scattered on the floor next to... Kiki kneels - drops of blood. A lamp has been smashed, as well.

Kiki stands there for several minutes, staring at the mess silently.

EDIT: The door to the shop is now shut and the "Closed" sign is in the window.

EDIT: Still closed, but waiting for Crowley and/or Aziraphale.

EDIT #3!: A bit after lunch time, the shop is open again. There's no sign of any disturbance.

After he stopped in at Blood Gulch Arms to talk with Tex, Red trotted back to his shop to open for the day. The sign was turned over and he went to the jewelry counter to pull the ring and store it in back as was Michael's request yesterday.

The cubs chased behind a brightly colored tennisball he had found and with them now preoccupied, Red went through the shop picking up cub toys to store them behind the counter, except the half gnawed gummi rat, which he threw away.

Up onto his stool, he flipped through his recent issue of Time magazine.

Outside the Caritas

Contractors are hard at work putting together Lorne's new place. Hammering and saw noises can be heard inside. A sign hangs above the establishment that reads:

Caritas!

Grand Opening Friday!

Lorne sits in a director's chair outside of the fracas screaming into his cell phone. He has a cigarette in one hand and a thermos full of Sea Breezes sitting on the arm of his chair.

"Damn it Tino! When I said I wanted red velvet I didn't want something that looks like some sort of brothel house reject! I want something tasteful. Think Norma Jean, not Monroe. Elegant. Not trashy. Get your act together baby or I'm shipping you back to Pittsburgh..."

Next to him is a sign that says:

Now Hiring/Auditioning:
Wait Staff
House Band

Chef Salad, apple sauce

Pitas with baba ganouj, hummus and greek salad, apple sauce.

Desserts:

Baked apples
Apple pie
Apple dumpling
Applesauce cake

(In the back, Deb can be heard griping about shippers who mess up their orders.)

Brenda is in the office and waiting for clients.

As she waits, she watches an infomercial for the Psychic Friends Network. She's thinking it won't help, but it's hard to look away.

Tex opens up the shop. There's really nothing more to say about it, she's having a really quiet week. Except maybe that there's a duck outside of the store, looking threatingly at the sign on the door. As soon as Tex notices the duck, it quickly waggles off.

Just in: Peacekeeper weapons
Pulse pistol and Pulse rifle

Gaining great headway with getting the bike completed, the brothers broke early so they could go in and open the Pub. It was nice when they could get a night off every once in a while, even if it was spent working on other things.

The Pub was put in order, the bar backed and they flipped the light on to flicker OPEN in the window.
[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com
Parker held open the door for Zero and Alanna, and surveyed the place once they were inside. "Acceptable. For a truly great haircut, we'd have to New York, but this place doesn't look too bad."

She taps her fingers on the receptionist's counter. "We'd like a stylist, the best one available, for an emergency fix, please."

A new sign hangs outside the brothel-formerly-known-as-Apple, proclaiming it to be 'The Fourth Sin'. Below it is another sign: 'Grand Opening!' The 'Now Hiring' sign is still in the yard.

Miho is nowhere in sight, unless one actually looks up at the roof, which so few people do. She might come in a few times for more brownies coffee. Becky is behind the new desk in the front room.

Welcome to The Fourth Sin!

On patrol - 09Nov05

The Fandom Town Police Department sends out the evening patrol. If any students are in town close to the 10pm curfew, they will be able to get a police officer to escort them back to campus if they wish.

A yacht pulled into the Fandom Town dock. Gob Bluth had arranged to rent some space to park his boat, and even set up a small magic shop. He'd be doing real work. His father would be so proud. Gob stepped off the boat, took a long look around, and took a deep breath.

He had a couple dock workers move a small booth a bit inland. On the booth was a sign reading "Bluth's House of Illusions." There was also a sign advertising "WANTED: One Lovely Assistant and One Clerk to mind the store (Lovliness preferred)."

All set up, Gob leaned against his new store and thought for a moment. He had come to a conclusion about his move here to Fandom.

"I've made a terrible mistake."

Jack moves in!

Near the egde of town, right near the water, a rather shady looking structure that's too big to be a shed and too small to be a warehouse has gone up, with what looks like a stand of the sort used to sell lemonade or cheap psychiatric help stuck on the front. A large handpainted sign on the front of the building proclaims it to be 'Fly By Night Air Transport'. Indeed, there is a small pontoon biplane floating placidly at the end of a long floating dock, which is currently being unloaded by short stout figure in a bomber jacket, a captain's hat perched on his head at rather a rakish angle. Ivanova is hauling crates and boxes to the doors of the warehouse, propped open by a pile of concrete bricks.

"So let me get this straight," Jack says, straightening and cracking his back as Ivanova bounces down the dock. "You are the daughter of that family that I helped get over the border ten years ago . . ."

"Many times removed great-granddaughter," Ivanova corrects him, grinning. "Trust me, we still remember you. And don't worry about the time thing -"

He shakes his head. "You're going to say it again."

"- you'll get used to it," she finishes. "Just think of me as an old family friend."

"Hey, I can always do with more of those!" Jack beams jovially. "Now stop slacking, employee-mine! We've got a business to get off the ground."

Ivanova rolls her eyes as she flings a mesh bag of signal flags and other bits of cloth over her shoulder and starts back down the dock. "The movie theatre or the restaurant I could have worked at, but nooo, I have to work for the joker in the funny hat."

"Hey, I heard that!"

[[Come say hi. Or, y'know, help Ivanova unpack. Modded with permission and all that.]]

After seeing Kiki off to her class, Aziraphale takes one last look around the shop to be sure everything is back in order. There are a few stacks of books on the counter now that need reshelving, but he figures he'll leave those for Kiki or Marty next time they're in.

The events of the past week have been draining, and Aziraphale is still tired from last night. He settles in for a quiet cup of tea and a book, occasionally glancing with a smile at the lovely arrangement of chrysanthemums that Kiki had given him.

((As Kiki's gone for the day, and her thread was getting cluttered, I've started a new one. Aziraphale will be available for RP until around midnight EST. The shop is available for anyone to use, but it will be closing at curfew. Please note: I'm trying a new system with setting up comment threads. Help me out by using them, and we'll see how it works.))

EDITED: The shop is now locked as of Crowley's thread. Anyone wanting in to shop or see Phale can do so. Anyone coming in to see Crowley will find a locked door. No, no one's keys will work, either.

Triple Deak Ice Rink & Sporting Goods - Noon

Gordon unlocked the door and pocketed the padlock. It was another day, another dollar (although business had been average). Hopefully the hockey kids tonight would actually play rather than mope about the equipment vandals from last week. He wanted to see them in action.

He hung up a sign with opening hours:

Rink Open to Public: 12pm-6pm
Fandom High Hockey Squad Practice: 6pm-9:30pm (due to curfew) - spectators welcome

There was another sign beneath it:

Help Wanted. No experience necessary. Enquire within.

[OOC: Mun is off to bed. Feel free to assume service and skate hire from Fulton (NPC, early 20s) if you would like to chill out.]
