Lana opened the store, still feeling incredibly happy. She might even be caught singing as she goes about her day.

Yes. Still.

Parker had been waiting for Zack after CV, and had dragged him into town, just like she'd warned him.

"Okay, I'm getting a manicure and hot oil treatment. My friend?" Parker grinned at the receptionist. "Is getting the works."

Cameron put his helmet on and checked to make sure his elbow and knee padding was firmly in place. Yes, he looked dorky, but as he looked down the steep hill of the Apocalypse Avenue it just felt safer like this. He wasn't entirely crazy.

Taking a deep breath, he turned to his roommate. "I feel like we need a battlecry or something."

It was Friday. That meant Kaylee showed up after class. Empire Records was open and she'd be around to help anyone who might need it.

Greg bustled in and taped the band back together. Then he pulled some gel out of his pocket and carefully styled the drummer's hair - or, well, what little was left of it.

There. Much better.

Then he tooks his place behind the bar, and started immediately staging a tiny battle between the beer bottles and the wine coolers.

[Big groups modding Tino would please me. Otherwise, I'm around!]

Clark came out of his office to cover the counter while Bunny ran off to powder her nose. He was rather engrossed in Bad Twin, and there for didn't quite catch, except out of the corner of his eye, Ernest, squashed like a cartoon charector, waddling across the lobby to the elevator.

He glanced up, just to make sure he'd actually seen it, but the doors were already closing.

His staff was weird.

Getting a message from Zoe minutes after seeing her leaving the dining table and had been confusing. Of course, River had explained all that to him. The Zoe that was the Principal of Fandom High wasn't the same as the one that was staying on Serenity in his dimension. River had attempted an explanation of how that could work, but he hadn't understood it, and even River was uncertain.

More disturbing however was the news that Zoe had told him. River had appearantly attacked a group of students. No one was seriously injured, but of course they couldn't risk something like that happening again. He had told Zoe he would see if there was anything he could do. Adjusting her medication was possible, but he needed to see if he could find out what had caused this. She had seemed fine during her visit home. More than fine, even. He wondered why that had changed.

Zoe had informed him on a hotel in the town where he could stay, but he really wanted to find the clinic first where River was staying. He knew it was selfish, but he really did miss her. And Kaylee too, he had to admit. Serenity had been a lot quieter since the two of them left.
