It was raining. Most people would see that as an excuse to stay inside and veg. Or do something else indoors. Billy however saw it as a fine time to be outside.

Wearing a green, hooded army coat, he took a moment to just center himself, eyes closed, listening to the rain.

[[ooc: anyone else with not enough sense to come in out of the rain?]]

Having had a very stern conversation with her accountant several days before, Zhaan had been rather busy with a stack of invoices that needed to be considered and either paid or refused. Several of them didn't even seem to belong to her, and tracking down just why invoices for 'pod erectors' had been sent to her rather than to somewhere in New Mexico, she didn't know.

Most of the stack was completed, but she was still investigating the last of them, perched on a stool.

If nothing else, Gabriel was keeping her company.

Small fliers had been handwavey left in the common rooms and some of the public places in town announcing the swoop bike race this afternoon. Luckily, the weather had cleared up enough to allow the race to proceed.

A little before three, the racers met at the far end of the causeway and had a quiet discussion about the route they would take and the rules for the race. Then they each went to check over their respective bikes and make final preparations.

[[OOC: Please wait for OCD is ready! Race is between [livejournal.com profile] bruiser_in_pink, [livejournal.com profile] cameronmitchell, [livejournal.com profile] carter_i_am and [livejournal.com profile] x5_alec and will start once all racers are online. Feel free to talk to them before the start of the race though.]]

The Doctor was in a lawn chair. He was reading 'Activating Evolution' by Chandra Suresh.

Interesting book, really.

[ooc: So. Incredibly. Open.]

The original plan, to have this be a brunch be another barbeque, had been spoiled by two things. The boss' decision to have the barbeque yesterday, and also by the rain.

Some of the staff was wondering if possibly Mr. Kent had known that it was going to rain. Perhaps he was a Wizard of some kind.

It had become some sort of a new custom for the twins to go to work together now rather than separately. It was also a lot easier to pass the time that way.
Chad's party last night had them thinking of Christmas, and since they didn't celebrate the American Thanksgiving in Japan, they decided to be rebellious and put up simple strands of white Christmas lights in the windows of the shop.
Emo and Goth even got installed with a few lights to add some early holiday cheer.

Sparky's is open.

Phoebe had barely gotten back from the field trip before running straight to Caritas to cover the Sunday shift like GOB had asked her to.

She wasn't thrilled to see that the female zombie was still there, and now the sound system was apparently playing really emo songs... over and over again.

[[OOC: Phoebe is around but it would be faster for you to mod Tino.]

It was a windy, damp, dark evening, exactly the kind of weather Nadia despised, but she found herself in no hurry to get back to the dorms.

Sunday evening. Back to classes and routine, tomorrow, and she wasn't looking forward to that.

Vegas had seemed like a breath of fresh air, getting to ghost about, wandering through crowds of people who'd have no idea that she was lying her ass off about everything about her. Being back in Fandom meant being back to just being plain Nadia.

So she shoved her hands into the pockets of her coat, her bags slung over her shoulders, and wandered through the streets for awhile, taking the most circuitous route back to the dorms as she could.
